I've never seen any japanese movies. And as awful as it may sound, the only ones I'm familiar with are the old old Godzilla films. I haven't seen those either. It's only Hollywood movies I've seen, and so I cannot compare them to anything else.

hi!!
Yes I've seen Japanese movies. I like the work of Takashi Miike. His disturbing movies impresses me alot...I have watched Audition, One missed call and another movie which I can't remember. I must say that American movies has been mediocre. The story line is soso. All they do is reproducing other movie. It's not bad though. Maybe they want to show us other foreign movies but I want more of their own creativity. I think movies from the 80's are much scarier. I also watched korean movies. A tale of two sisters, Sympathy for lady vengeance, and other. They are also interesting but I think they are different from Japanese movies. Korean are popular for drama. SO their movies could be more touching. While japanese are more shocking. Indian movies are also something. i saw Asoka and Devdas. I would recommand these. Their movies are always 3 hours long...but it's worth it. Their movies are like poetry. It's hard to explain. if you have a chance to watch them, try them out.

i like the japenese versions of some scary movies. because they are more silent so it kind of makes the movie scarier.
