I hate the waiting!!

Well I have been waiting patiently for over 3 hours now.
I saw my wife mixing all the ingredients.
They were all mixed and prepared.
So what does she do?
Puts the mix in the fridge!
HUH? Why dang it?
It is Home Made Chocolate Chip Cookies.
Now she says after this movie is done she'll bake then.
I have staring at the cookie rack waiting for them to magically appear.
But that hasn't worked yet.
I swear I can taste them already.
It's been 5 hours since the batter was made and no cooklies for another hour or so.
Do you hate waiting for a goodie to be baked?
Do you taste it when it isn't even cooked?

You know..if this was any other guy saying this...I would tell you to get off of your butt and bake them..but you are one of the good guys and I know you already have a big job...so just think about back when you were a kid and the anticipation of Christmas.
Waiting is dreaming and anticipating is 1/2 the fun...just have that big glass of cold milk ready to go with those cookies.

I was elected to make dinner tonight as well.
My wife loves my homemade chili.
I add some sugar and another secret ingedient.
Evertyone loves it.
Well my kids never liked chili.
But everyone else does.
Now I made dad and my wife eat dinner an hour earlier than usual.
Just so I'd get some cookies and houir earlier.
I am having a few right now that are still warm.
Love when they are warm and the chocolate drips as I bite into them.

I refrigerate my cookie dough too. The cookies bake better when the dough is cold. She isn't just trying to torture you, hehe. Homemade chocolate chip cookies do sound good, its too bad I don't have all the ingredients to make some. You haveto say abbracadabra, maybe that will help them cookies magically appear. Enjoy, I am sure you will tease us and have a discussion about how good they are.

She did it to torture me really.
She never refridgerates the dough.
NEVER!
But now I am happy munching away.
I wonder if there will be any left in the morning?

Really Polly, you like your dough cold? I can't stand to make cookies with cold dough. If I absolutely have to put some dough back in the fridge I wait until it is room temperature to bake the cookies. I think mine cook better when the dough is at room temperature.

I would offer to go bake them myself if I wanted them that bad. Maybe she felt the dough needed to cool. You and Buster can look at things longingly and drool, but that will not make her hurry.

I have made many different kinds of chocolate chips cookies, but it is usually cookies like sugar or vanilla called rolled cookies, that you have to allow it to chill for a couple of hours..So did she make chocolate chips cookies that are rolled cookies? If so, I would love the recipe..:)

Just the recipe on the back of the chips bag is all.

Ahh, they look really yummy, even at 7:30 in the morning.. So she was making you wait, but the wait was worth it, wasn't it? Too bad it wasn't a rolled cookie dough, I wonder if there is a homemade recipe for that. I mean you can buy chocolate chip cookies in the rolled package at the store, so there must be a recipe for it..When I am done here, I will search it out...

Hello GB. Cookies actually do better if the batter is chilled before baking. I have baked half a batch of cookies and placed the remaining dough in the fridge. Nowadays I bake the entire batch. I would rather heat the oven once and get it over with. Of course, sampling of the dough is allowed. I think it is a shame not to sample before baking!

Yeh they do better chilled.
Otherwise the dough flattens out on the sheet prior to cooking.
I was just starving for a cookie was all.
Alls better now.
I ate 4 with coffe and filled now.
A few hours I'll have a few more I am sure.

See now I am going to have to look at your first page. As I think you take great pictures. Lol......Cookies are great coming right out of the oven after coming back froma walk. I am glad your wife enjoys baking cookies. I do as well. I think they get eaten faster than I can make them. So, I tend to make them when kids are in school.

I do make them during the weekdays when she's at work sometimes.
Look on the first page.
There's a photo added.
I've eaten a few already.
Just got back from a night walk with Deb and Buster also.
Felt great as it is Nov 2 and 60 outside here in Minnesota.
A very nice warm November evening.
Won't be long it'll be cold and snowy at nights.

You betcha, once I get a hankering for it, there isn't any stopping my taste buds for salivating over it and tasting the gooey or yummy goodness.. I love not quite done cookies, where they are still soft, the batter is just so delicious.

LOL Must have been a really long movie! So why not go bake them yourself if you are tired of waiting? It's not hard.
Unless they are supposed to be chilled for a specific time period, I don't even start a cookie batter unless I am going to bake them right away. But then I am lucky where I live right now. I can see the tv from my little kitchen so I could bake and watch a movie at the same time if I wanted to.

Since i am the one usually doing the baking it doesn't bother me much. However i would NEVER make up a mix (cake, because i can't do cookies)then put it in the fridge, thinking about the fact that it was waiting to be done would drive me nuts.

I am like that with my mom's banana pudding!! It's completely from scratch, and well, needless to say, it is great!! So when she puts it in the fridge to chill it kills me, lol...and then, after it's ready, I get a big bowlful, and I am good, because everyone knows, banana pudding is better on the second day!!!

I make Tapioca Pudding from scratch as well.
But I am the only one that likes it.
SO I get stuffed quickly when I make that.
I eat it warm most times when I make it.
It's because I can't wait till it cools.
Tastes a lot better warm anyhow.

Patience is a virtue Grandpa Bob, which admittedly I don't possess. LOL! I really hate it too when there are goodies waiting to be savored by ME. The waiting really really sucks! My daughter don't have any patience either and to my horror, I caught her more than once eating them raw.

Hehehe Bob you sound like a little kid, waiting for chocolate chip cookies!! Well, I have never found myself waiting for goodies as such, maybe because I am the one who has to prepare them. :) I have of course, waited for stuff in restaurants and wondered why the hell they don't hurry up. :) So, I guess the chocolate chip cookies are done by now?
Cheers and happy mylotting

Do you really want the truth? Me and "WAITING" doesn't get alone good at all, that's how I learned how to baked the darn goodies myself so I wouldn't waste my drool waiting on something that I can learn to do myself.
I used to wait for my mom to wip up something delicious, like peanut butter cookies, but she couldn't throw it in the oven quick enough because I wanted it "NOW" not in 20 minutes, but "NOW"
Yum yum. Feed me goodies.
