I have a new friend who has been my firend for a few months. She and her husband hit it off terrific with me and my husband. She has other friends though, who were her firends until she needed help, and then they scattered like cockroaches when you turn on the light. SHe is so caring and trusting. I hope she keeps these people at arms lenght, now, but I don't know if she will. They broke her heart once already. I hope they don't have the opportunity to do that again.

I hate people like that. After awhile, I end up just treating them like acquaintances. I can understand a bit if they've never needed my help before and we've barely known each other. But if I've helped someone out and then they won't return the favor later, they can forget my friendship because I am too busy to waste time on people who won't stick around.
