How do you get people to comment on your discussions?

I started a post about a topic I really need some answers for and while I know it hasn't been posted for that long, I was hoping to see some action on it by now. My question to you all is this, how do you really get a great number of replies to discussions on here? Do you find that it is the topic that spurs people on, or just the poster themselves?

I can only tell you why i reply on a discussion.
First of all, the title. If the title don't let me think i'm interested in the topic, i not even read the post.
Then, if after i checked the post and the replies i feel i have something to do about that, i post my reply.
And, of course, i check my friends discussion, before all the others, coz i know i will reply their discussions as well as they will reply mines ;)

Well,i think if you give a funny and informative discussioin,it will attract a lot of responses.
Make sure mylotters are interested in the topic you chose.Maybe something related to their life can draw their attention.
