I do not feel that you are in the wrong. Provided you did not beat your child a little discipline did not hurt anyone. I have myself upon occasion tapped my children on the mouth. I think that now a days the world gives kids more rights than parents. And then when the kids grow up and are messed up they blame it on the parents. Will they make up their minds. I agree with what you did and you need to keep doing what you are doing. Good luck.

I think they will keep a case open for six months and if no other reports come in and after checking on the child atleast once they will probably close case.

I am from another country and here it is not common that people stick on to parents way of disciplining their kids or treating their kids, well in fact a lot of abuse happens and neighbore do nothing, a little off in your part though that people are that paranoid and here poeple are a little don't care attitude.

First off the people probably made things worse by yelling and cussing if the cops would have heard that they would have surely been warned if they continued they would have went to jail. Alot of don't correct their children in public for the reason you stated cops would be called. I wasn't there so I cannot judge you on your actions. I am sure you tried to repeatedly reason with her but nothing worked and since you didn't tap her hard enough to even leave a mark even a slight one I am sure she wasn't hurt. Me I usually end up bribing them with something I know they want not toys but usually food like their favorite or junk food that isn't he way to handle it I know. But that is how I cope.

I am so sorry they treated you this way. My son has CP, but also has sensory issues. Alot of the time, we have to grab his face and make us focus on us when he starts acting up. We also get lots of looks. I never have had the cops called. How did the police handle it? Maybe you should have tried something different, I don't know, as I was not there, but until someone is in your shoes, they cannot even begin to understand. Especially with a child that doesn't look like there is more going on than what is.

I have a daughter who is sever adhd and I know how stressful it can be. But under no circumstances do you ever smack a child in the head or face. Do you know you could rupture her eardrum and cause your child to go deaf? Yes, you can. It doesn't not have to be a hard time at all for it to occur. So these people were more worried about your daughter. I think it is even worse to act out your anger on your daughter knowing she has disabilities.
