Hey everyone... if you are watching foreign movie which is not your mother tongue, what will you choose? the original voice with subtitle or you will choose for the translated to your mother tongue movie? for me, if that is cartoon, normally i will choose the translated and for movie, i will ok with it... i will prefer to watch with their original voice, how about you all? THanks for taking time to read my discussion....

Definately with the original voice and subtitles..I quite frankly can't stand dubbed movies..I find it far too annoying and a huge distraction..

I prefer movie with its original voices and the subtitles. By that way, we can know the original voices of a person . It is much better than being translated.

Well, of course with I will choose the translated with our mother tongue than subtitle below.. I hate watching foreign movies then I will just keep reading.. Sometimes, I can't concentrate the whole movie because I'm running after with the subtitle below for me to be able to understand the whole story.. I really hate watching movie reading subtitle.. Sometimes I'm not watching that movie at all because it makes me tired reading and running after each words will appear.. Then sometimes I need to rewind it because I didn't finished reading all of those subtitle.. So, I'd rather watching foreign movie with translated voice in our mother tongue.. And besides for me it more prettier to watched it with your own language...

I've seen some pretty incredible dubbings (not like the original Godzilla movies translated into English where the actors mouths without words and then the dubbed voice speaks). I have the first two of the Russian vampire trilogy (I can't find if the trilogy has a name or just the individual movies), Night Watch and Day Watch and Night Watch is dubbed, Day Watch is subtitled but the dubbing in the first is so expertly done that I couldn't tell that the actors hadn't spoken in English while filming.
I think it's harder to see a subtitled film in a theater, just because of the size of the screen. It's hard enough (for me) to focus on the entire 20 foot picture without having to read words across the bottom of it.

For me, I always love to see it in its original voice, even cartoons, with or without subtitle. With subtitle if I don't understand the language, such as Japanese, Chinese, France, etc. But for English, I don't mind to see it without subtitle. Why I like original ones? Because if we translate it through dubbing process, the sounds cannot match the movements even if you try so darn hard! Unless, you do the dubbing in a very high tech studio, which is very rare for dubbing productions, if you know what I mean.
