What is the real difference between the Jedi and the Sith?

That was a hard question for me if answering it in its very essence. The greatest Siths were once Jedis, and the greatest Jedis would have to come from a deep spiritual struggle with the Dark Side. Star Wars an artistic expression of the development of humanity - its capabilities and powers, technologies and ideologies. I adore Star Wars. And no, I don't wanna be a Jedi. I think I am more fit to be a Sith.

I agree this is a very tough question to answer, even though I am a huge fan of the Star Wars saga and have seen all six movies like a dozen times each and they are by far the best movies ever made, and it is true that some of the greatest Sith were once Jedi but not all because some were trained by Sith and never once has training in becoming a Jedi or at least in my opinion, and the Jedi have a struggle with in themselves between the Dark Side and the Light Side, and they have to try to avoid anger, hatred and other things that lead to the Dark Side, and I think the difference between Jedi and Sith is the basic principal of good vs. evil, and how they choose to follow the force and deal with emotions Jedi choose to believe that their is not emotion and they strive for peace, while the Sith believe that emotions are they way to victory and choose to embrace their anger as a key to strength and victory in battle, and I definitely would want to be Jedi because I would love to train under a Jedi Master and fight the Dark Side with a blue lightsaber.

Lately I've been interested in lightsaber styles and the role they played in anakin and obi-wan's improvement. There was red, and blue, and surprisingly they had the mace windu purple version too. I have no idea how they light up, but they really do! It's like a super flash light! cool!

the color of the lightsaber blade depends on the color of its power crystal. basically, these crystals are rare and can only be found in force sensitive locations. And i also read years ago that each color represents a particular attribute and character of the Jedi wielding it. Blue I think is peace negotiators, something like that.

The difference is how they handle their emotions. The Jedi view emotions as a result to attachment. They are paradoxical people, really, promoting unconditional love while at the same time being emotionally detached to everything. It could be that they are hypocrites. The Sith, on the other hand, draw deeply on their passions and emotions for their power. Compared to the Jedi, Sith embodies the maxim "You practice what you preach." The only problem with these warriors is that they rely too much on the dark emotions which makes a person easy to read.

I think, it is not really hard to differentiate the two. Simply put it like this, Jedi leans on the light side of the force and the Sith leans on the dark side of the force. Tapping the light side of the force is about compassion, peace and etc. They have the basic jedi code, just forgot where I've seen that. ON the other hand, tapping the dark side needs anger, hate, hatred and fear. They also have the basic sith code, a direct opposite of the Jedi code.
