Is gambling a good thing?

there's no single and straight answer for your question. we tend to judge everything through the good/bad verdict by the effects that that something produces when it occurs. and, generally, in this kind of judgment we consider the effects that affect us, more or less personally (as the above guys have already done, as you can see). so, if you feel like gambling has a positive effect on you, than you, as well as I, may say that gambling is good. otherwise, meaning that your gambling experience produced you some kind of harm, in any way, than you, as well as I, may say that gambling is bad.

gambling is never good, of course it might be good for the lucky people, i have really bad luck at gambling so for me it's a completely evil thing

I like gambling. Obviously, it is not good but most of us enjoyed doing it. With regard to the pen case, do not return it. It is your friend's fault why he lost such thing. Give your friend a lesson. Maybe because of that he will not engagein gambling anymore. Have a nice day!
