Real or fake?

People talk much more freely and from the heart, when they have enough anonimity. I think the responses we give as anonymous posters are much more interesting. I know that if I for one used my name on the ID, most people would have problems reading it - Especially my last name, it's Romanian :D Also if I used my normal name and my picture as an avatar, my responses would be much less interesting and colorful, than those of the one, the only, the truly free: hellcord

Hello Friend, I am using my name Naseef as username in Mylot. But as you said most of the people using the fake names and very strange names as user names in Mylot. I think it will be for some security reasons.They need to keep their identity and name as secret.Then they can be more safe than us from the network attacks. There is no option to change the user name in Mylot.If there is an option then i think a big part of the real name users also will change to to some other Names. We can change email id, first and last name..in mylot.But not the username!! Even though i am using my real name, most of my friends recognize me from my avatar.I think the avatar also has a big role as names here. Happy postings and have a nice day

It sounds as if you haven't been on the internet very long, or you would know that most people do use fake names (user names), and it's to protect their identity. Everybody on the net isn't friendly, and people have been stalked and threatened, and harassed here. Once somebody knows your real name, they can find out where you live. People have had complete strangers show up at their door, and have been threatened because of something they said on the web. Having a user name allows people to say what they want without worrying whether someone is going to come after them for it. Of course, having just a user name also makes it easy for people who want to create trouble without worrying that they will be punished for the illegal and other activities. But mostly, it protects honest people.

hi,there,i think that's not everyone use the fake name, maybe so many people use the real name, but you still have no idea about it, i use my real english name on mylot, i think it is ok, and nothing serious, i think it is all by the habit, name is just a sign, nothing serious.
