Joining the military with a family should I do it?

I am a 33 year old man that served my county and got out in 1999. I have since then started a family and have 3 children and a loving wife. Now with the economy the way it is I am scared I will be losing my job and need a stable job with insurance for the family. My question is should I go back without the wife agreeing to it or chance not having insurance for the children?
