When my dog was still alive, and before it got difficult for her to climb the stairs she used to sleep in our bed. She slept down at the end, and always had part of her body touching both my husband and I. I adopted her from a pound when she was a puppy, I think they took her from her mother too early, because I literally had to cuddle her on my lap everynight to get her to go to sleep when she was a puppy, since I was usually tired myself I would just lay her in bed with me and snuggle her and we would both fall asleep, so she just kind of got used to that. I would love to have her in my bed cuddling again.

I have let my dog sleep with my husband and I but he got runned over a year ago, now I have a german shepherd and is way too big for my bed, so he has his own bed outside. We also have a rat terrier and a beagle mix but, they sleep outside too. Rascal my beagle mix will jump on my bed whenever he gets the chance though. We decided it wasn't a good idea to have our dogs on the bed since I had my baby.

Two of my dogs sleep with me. The third sleeps with my daughter. My Yorkie will sometimes sleep under the covers and sometimes on the pillow next to me. My Yorkie mix always sleeps under the covers. You'd think it would get awfully hot under there!
When I had my Lhasa Apsos both would start out in the bed if I were reading or watching TV. As soon as I turned out the light, the one would move and sleep right in fromt of the front door as if he were on guard duty for the night. The other always stayed in bed with me.
I don't think I could sleep very well without them either. One of my Lhasas passd on at 15 and the other at 16. This was one of the things I missed the most when they were gone.

My dog is an 80 pound lab/collie mix. She never even tries to get into the bed, and she is 11 years old now. She prefers to have the run of the house downstairs at night. She only comes upstairs if she is afraid of thunder or fireworks, then she sleeps on the floor in our room.
