Owkie! Just curios about it!
Well, as we all know that most of us here are very keen in making money online. Some doing good, some are not. Some are happy of the result, some are unsatisfied. Some are enjoying earning, some are bored.
But, is life just all about making money? Do we just mainly live to have a job or we do have a job to live?
I really love the words from a person who had once said, "A wise man should put money in his mind, not in his heart". And strongly I believe that "the love of money is the root of all evil!"
So myLotters, let us all be wise in making money.. Let's not forfeit the purpose of earning. We earn because we wanna live, and not we live because we wanna earn...
God Bless you guys!

Money was used in bible times. I cannnot recall where or in which book of the bible money was first mentioned, but is certainly was used.
Exodus 30:16
Take the money the Israelites give to make peace with the LORD, and use it to pay the expenses of the tent of meeting. It will be a reminder for the Israelites in the LORD's presence that the sins in their lives are removed."
I suppose it is hard to put an exact date on it but I would say around 1450 BC.
I think God must of invented it though, as it is all over the bible chapters.

Wow!
So you're a Christian huh!.. Same here! Nice to meet you! ^_^
Well, yeah, money are used since the old testament times. You know, it's very an amazing thought that God himself has a lot to say about money. He's not against having a lot of money(as what other teaches). In fact, during the old testament, God blessed financially those persons who are very keen in observing His Laws.
But one thing I am sure, God has said "For I know the plans I have for you; the plans to prosper you, to give you hope and a good future..." (Isaiah 29:11)
God Bless hildas!!

Nice said. Just to let you know. Money was not actually created by anyone. It was automatically created from human needs. I read in my macro economics course that before people kept their valuables to the gold smiths. They had strong security system. And in return the smith gave them a recipt. Then people started to trade with the receipt. It was also one form of money.
After that some stories are there but right now i can't remember them. If i remember in future then i will start a discussion on that.lol

The use of barter like methods may date back to at least 100,000 years ago. Trading in red ochre is attested in Swaziland, shell jewellery in the form of strung beads also dates back to this period, and had the basic attributes needed of commodity money. To organize production and to distribute goods and services among their populations, before market economies existed, people relied on tradition, top-down command, or community cooperation. Relations of reciprocity, and/or redistribution, substituted for market exchange.[citation needed]
The Shekel referred to an ancient unit of weight and currency. The first usage of the term came from Mesopotamia circa 3000 BC. and referred to a specific mass of barley which related other values in a metric such as silver, bronze, copper etc. A barley/shekel was originally both a unit of currency and a unit of weight... just as the British Pound was originally a unit denominating a one pound mass of silver.[citation needed]
A 640 BCE one-third stater electrum coin from Lydia, shown larger.
According to Herodotus, and most modern scholars, the Lydians were the first people to introduce the use of gold and silver coin.[14] It is thought that these first stamped coins were minted around 650-600 BC.[15] A stater coin was made in the stater (trite) denomination. To complement the stater, fractions were made: the trite (third), the hekte (sixth), and so forth in lower denominations.
The name of Croesus of Lydia became synonymous with wealth in antiquity. Sardis was renowned as a beautiful city. Around 550 BC, Croesus contributed money for the construction of the temple of Artemis at Ephesus, one of the Seven Wonders of the ancient world.
The first banknotes were used in China in the 7th century, and the first in Europe issued by Stockholms Banco in 1661.
In the Western world, a prevalent term for coin-money has been specie, stemming from Latin in specie "in kind"

I am not certain about that, but even before a long long time ago, they already used money for transactions... but before money was invented, people used to do barter trades...

Yeah! But it's not called money yet. Maybe they use gold or silver or other precious stuff that they can use in measuring a certain thing's worth.
Some said that it was the summerians, some said that it was the phonecians.. Hmmmmm.. Also, a mylotter also claimed the invention!
Nevertheless, money was created for man, not man for money!
God Bless atenean101!
