With the election just one day away, I can't help but wonder how people will react depending on which candidate wins. Fear seems to have filled the minds of many Americans with this election.
I do not have the same fears that I have seen and heard expressed by many. Of course, I do have a preferred candidate and feel strongly about it. That's just politics. I will not allow this to fill my heart and mind with fear.
I live in the greatest country on the globe. We have the bravest men and women defending it. I am free to vote for anyone I want to tomorrow. My children have food to eat, clothes on their backs, and they will continue going to school and learning regardless of who is elected.
I think the most detrimental thing that can happen as a result of tomorrow's election may be brought on by the everyday citizens if we allow ourselves to be torn apart and divided (more so than we already are) by the outcome.
Do you fear the outcome of tomorrow's election?

not only is america wondering and perhaps worried about what the result of the election will be but we here in canada are also awaiting the outcome. as america's closest neighbour that shares the largest border and biggest trading partner as well as a country that jumps when the US jumps, it will be interesting to see the next few days.

I am interested to know how our neighbors in Canada will be effected. Maybe you'll start a discussion after the election?

As it has been said - it is more what takes
place 'after the election' that is of great
concern. There are fanatics on both sides,
that could very well spiral out of control,
and do something stupid.
It's sad when someone says that the only
reason you're voting Rep., is because you
are against African Americans - what a crock!
I hate it when people are trying to tell you
that they "know" what you are thinking, or what
your motives are!
As Americans - one wonders if we're setting any
better examples (to our kids),where our political
views are concerned, as we are in life in
general - - when you see so many youngsters today
who are snotty, disrepectful, and hot heads, as well as
unappreciative, and having a "I want it NOW outlook."
Adivided nation is what our enemies salivate over. And
we KNOW that they WILL try again.
There are hidden agendas within the government, the
media and the educational system, to NEUTRALIZE us
as a nation, and it has become stronger - more
purposeful, and clearer as the years go by. And it
is what will eventually bring our dimize as a super
power, in the years to come.
Now that is what can make the bravest a bit fearful.

Yadav, thanks for responding. I am glad you like the discussion and appreciate your input.
Classycat, YOu bring up some good points. I think we need to make politics a family matter and set a good example for the kids.

Yes, I do. I do because I feel both candidates are hiding something. I don't know what it may be, maybe their fear of having to clean up after the past 8 years, maybe something else. I know who I'm voting for, I just hope he does what he says he's going to do. If he does, great. If he doesn't, we could be in for a bad situation. If he doesn't get elected, we're still in for something bad, whether the other candidate does what he says he's gonna do or not. I just hope for the best. I also believe that everything happens for a reason, so I have to put my trust in the powers that be. Regardless of the outcome, we have to trust that we all have something to learn from it.

There is no definitive way to know which candidate will leave our country in the best shape after 4-8 years. I feel rather strongly about which guy I want in office but I know that I may be very wrong. Maybe what sounds like a horrible plan now would actually be best for the country as a whole.
Since there is no way to predict the future, I see no reason to fear either guy being our president. I am sure that both guys have something good to offer, just in different areas.
Trusting in the powers that be is probably the best bet for all of us. After casting our vote, what more can you do?

I try to not live in fear. I also know that I cannot control anybody else's thoughts and emotions. I just hope that they will not affect me. And that they will not affect the rest of the country. We DO live in the greatest country! I do not fear the outcome of tomorrow's election. It is an exciting time that will hopefully NOT lead to anything bad!

It is an exciting time. Even when I don't agree with someone's point of view, I love that they are thinking and expressing it. I especially like watching the kids learn about democracy. Their untainted views can be very refreshing.

No, our economy goes up and down( currently down), but the government has seen many various economies go up and down and have trajedies of the such. There have been good leaders and bad leaders, wont be any different, if there si soemone who is just terrible we will just get them impeached, if they are another "FDR" then that's a good thing. We just live here, we dont control what happens.

I think we could definitely benefit from another great leader. But either way, we have withstood a lot as a nation and we will continue to move forward regardless of who is elected tomorrow.

Regardless of the outcome, regardless of one's personal choice, whoever is elected is our President. Even if my candidate doesn't win, I will support the new President as he will be our leader and as a citizen that's my duty. I have no fear, I trust the American people to back the new President regardless of who it is. Fear will not get us anywhere and we need to united in order to get things moving again.

I do not fear what will happen tomorrow. But I do fear for the people who may take it to the point of harming themselves or others. Honestly there is no need for this. And you are right life will continue it will not cease after the fourth. I am also thankful for the rights we have to vote as we choose and to be able to express ourselves rationally.
I have noticed a division beginning and as much as possible I try to stay out of it or use facts to help sort out this downward spiral to nowhere but down. We should all just go into those booths tomorrow vote who we feel and believe in and leave it at that.
Because no matter who wins I will respect the office. I will always respect America and feel proud when the flag flies high and sad when it flies half staff.
We are beautiful and strong and very, very diverse.
United we stand and divided we fall. It's better to stand in my opinion.
See you at the polls.
