Why husbands hide salary from wife?

I don't really know why. my husband tells me his salary and even show me his pay stubs when he was still my boyfriend. He still does the same now that we're married. It's just odd that guys would really do that to their wife.

I never knew husbands hid their salary from their wives. In my home I know exactly how much my husband takes home. We have a joint bank account, and I'm responsible for most of the bill paying. I do the shopping and at the end of the day I am the one who tells him how much money is left for him to spend on gas. He earns the money... I spend it. I think that's how it is in most American households.

Because they don't want their wife to know how much they are making.. They don't want to share.. Or they could be hiding something...

I wouldn't know why some men do not want their wives to know what their salary is. I guess there are things they want to spend their money on without their wives knowing about it. I do not have that problem. My husband knows what I make, and I know of any money he makes. The wife will know this information when tax time comes around I would think. Maybe there are some wives who just let their husbands get away with it.

haha...i guess that they don't want their wives to demand expensive things...or they might ashamed that their salary's not high enough...who may know...hehe

Hi , Husbands hide their salary from their wives because they don't want to give up their finacial freedom. Also they fear that If they tell their wives about salary they fearthat their wives overspend it.

My husband doesn't know how much he makes. He doesn't pay attention to it at all. I could take him for all he's got and he'd never know it. His pay is sent straight our bank account and I pay all the bills and handle everything. I don't think he even knows the account number.

This would not be normal for your husband to hide his salary from you. My husband has dirct deposit and I take care of all of our finances. He don't know how much his check is half the time! LOL I worry about him being so dependant on me. A coupple of years ago I had to have surgery and was in the hospital for four days and I swear I thought the man was going to just fade from existence. He didn't know where to go pay a bill or anyting. We've remedied that somewhat since then but if your husband is hiding his salary from you you have a big problem on your hands that needs attention now! Ther is no good reason for hiding things from your spouse.
