my husband is gone a lot of the time and I find that sometimes I actually ache in my chest thinking about him. I love him so much. We have been together for almost 17 years and I still feel a flutter in my chest for him and feel a tinge when I see him. Is this normal for someone who has been married this long????

Yes, we women really have the tendency to give more in a relationship. The longer the relationship, the more you invest in it physically and emotionally. There are also a lot of fond memories that we can't just let go.

I feel this is a very natural feeling for 2 Married people to feel this way about their spouse. I have been married almost 10 yrs. myself and not a day goes by that I do not wonder how I would make it if something ever happened to my husband as well. Just because the World goes thru like 3-5 husbands usually in 15 yrs. or so, does not mean that everyone else has to follow as well. You should be proud you are blessed with a marriage like this for sure.

I believe we women love like this is quite normal, when some of us love we really love deep, I think it is nice for such feelings to still exist, I hope your husband appreciates what he has, many men don't...

I don't think it's that abnormal actually. I think some people can really keep their marriages alive with love and affection and since your husband has been gone, it makes you think about how much you love him and care for him. So, you start to miss him and wish he was at home with you. That's really not so strange. It just means you have a really deep connection with your partner.
