An interesting experience with hidden object games...

If you're not familiar with them, hidden object games are games where you're shown a picture of a whole bunch of stuff in one room that's all in random locations all over the place. You're given a list of items to find and when you click on them they go away. My sister was playing one one day, and my son (who has Autism) was watching her. The game was Hidden Expedition: Titanic if you're curious. My sister was trying to find a ruler, and was getting frustrated. She said outloud something like "Where the heck is that ruler?" To which my son responded with something she couldn't understand then "on the door." She looked and sure enough, it was on the door. She tried it with several other items in various rooms in the game and he kept spotting the items before she did. She had to cater what she was asking for to what she knows he can identify. But maybe playing the games with your kids from time to time will help with object identification, social skills (since you're playing together) and other issues kids with Autism have to deal with. Just thought I'd share.

I remember this game in one of the cartoons that i used to watch... and i always enjoyed looking for the hidden bear or other items... it seems like your son is quite talented at finding hidden items... i wonder if that is his special skill... i read that most children with autism has one or two special skills...
