I wanted to post something on this, but decided to think about it for a few days first. And I have to say it still bothers me. Whatever day it was not too long ago (Friday I think, or maybe Thursday) I turned on my tv. Well, my one tv only gets local stations as I do not have my satellite hooked up to it and of course I can across the Obama Informercial on just about every channel. This did upset me, not because I am not for this guy, but because of the households (and there are many in my area I am not sure about yours) that only receives local channels as they either choose or cannot afford cable/satellite services. Does this not irritate you when you turn on the tv and find the same thing being broadcast...it's not like it was about an emergency....it was a paid promo.
Yes, I know I had a choice to turn the channel...well I did and there it was again. The only channel not affected by this infomercial was public broadcasting. At least some networks still cannot be bought out there.
I just saw this as a last minute way of shoving down people's throats a massive campaign banner. And I am sure there will comments about this, but come on I would have said the same if others had done it. Plus, since many will say you have the choice to change the channel we all know on satellite channel 73 is his 24 hour paid programming.
I just find it odd that he is for the people and all about saving us money....well I know for a fact that buying tv time is not cheap...and honestly I would have respected him and the other candidates who spend loads on publicity ads and stunts if they had just donated the dough to local shelters and community projects as they made their way across the US.
But I have to thank you Obama...because I learned a little more about the history of bridges and steam trains from my local PBS station.
So tell me did the infomercial help? What are your thoughts on it?
