The problem with too many friends

I have a lot of friends here on mylot, and I have a very good time with them all. But, I didn't realize just how many friends I had on here until just a little while ago when I went to start turning the notifications off so my mailbox won't overflow while I am away for a week. I don't know how all them people got on my list
So tell me, how many friends are on your mylot friends list and how many of them do you receive email notifications for saying they started a new discussion?
I know that, until I return, there will only be one user I get notified for and that's ShellyB. I left her on because I know there will be the dickens to pay if I come back and miss any of her discussions

Oh no! It had to be done, my friend. Honestly, it did. Don't get them squirrels back to training or go I needed to do it tonight because I will probably be too busy tomorrow to do much of anything other than prepare my suitcase and pester Shelly so she won't miss me too much

I have 140 friends in Mylota and for most of them i have kep notification alerts to my mail box. Even though its over fludding my mail box, but as i will check my mail box every now and then i will keep deleting those alerts after i check those in mylot. So its never been a problem for me to have more number of friends. One day I would definately like to have more than 500 friends in Mylot. Its good to have huge number of friends as they are the one who responds to our discussions also they will keep our discussions active most of the time.
So i will not mind even its fludding my mail box. Fwidman its a good discussion you have started, to make others alert about these options, because most of the people are not aware of these alerts system, as they dont check thier mail boxes. Anyways thanks for starting discussion, have a nice and bright day ahead. Sayanara.
Regards,
Jnk3dfx.

Thanks, jnk3dfx Normally I check my email every ten minutes or so. But since I will be offline for a week I won't have that luxury. And since some of the emails I get are business related and make me money I cannot afford to have my mail shut off by Verizon while I am away

Ohh. In that case its a wise decision to turn off alerts for few days. After all you can tur it on anytime isnt'it. At the moment it will be good for you. No need to keep my discussions alerts active he hee . Anyways, best of luck for you business. Have a nice day ahead.

I don't read any of my mylot notifications at all anymore. I really have too many mylot friends also but I like them all so don't mind :) I just am too busy with my kids and my sites though to let myself get distracted by mylot discussions. I haven't been on here at all much lately, i try to just visit for a little bit each week and see what i have been missing...lots and lots!

I didn't want to turn the notifications off, but I had to. Otherwise the mail server would get all clogged up and Verizon would stop collecting all my emails
What if someone was paying me? I'd never know!
As soon as I get back I will turn the notifications back on and all will be well

Hey fwidman! I have a whole lot of friends, but I don't
get all the notifys or my mailbox would colapse! I only
get a few peoples email notifications and I have no idea
why I don't get the others. I don't know if they don't
have me turned on and that's why or they just don't
work! I think that was a good idea though for you to
turn them off while you are gone! Just don't forget to
turn them back on when you get home! I would hate to miss
your discussions! I hope you have a wonderful trip and
enjoy the wedding and the train ride! See you when you
get back!

I have just under 10 friends.... I don't receive emails or notifications from any so what's the use in having them as friends? Just kidding... I havn't gotten any notifications since I joined... i think mylotters are trying to see how many friends that they can gain.

Oh man. I have tons and tons of friends on mylot, mostly because I accept friend requests BECAUSE I am a friendly person AND this is a social site. I don't have every single notify turned on, I started out having all of them turned on but that was back when I had about 25 friends. I think I have more than 11 pages which must be what, 200? I don't have any 'system' to what I answer, which I know is frowned on by some folks but I'm simply not that organized. I have a yuwie page too and I had friends there who had a whole written system to how they managed to visit 10K people. I bow to their greatness.
Have fun while you're gone from mylot, I will miss your discussions and your comments in mine

I have 18 friends pages. Imagine having all those notifications on? I rarely have turned down a friend request. As you say, this is a social site and one must be sociable and have friends
I will miss mylotting while I am gone, that's for certain. I spend a lot of time on here every day.
Maybe the spirits in the house will visit mylot while I am gone

I'm thinking you actually consider these internet friends real friends. I appreciate comments from people on the internet but if I'm probably never going to meet them in person I don't think I consider them real friends. They are plain and simple just internet friends and I'm sorry but I wouldn't put allot of stock into these kinds of friendships. I mean if you get busy and don't have time to answer emails or contact them; I mean is it really of that dire importance. I love my fellow man in general. Do I like my fellow man well that's another ? to ponder. lol Do I care if I answer someone's email I don't know and probably never will meet. Well I got to many things to do to worry about this.

Well, I have met a few of my online friends through the years. I also married a woman that was an online friend So, yes, I do consider them to be friends. But, I do not answer every email notification that I get from these friends. I do have other things in Life to worry about, like my family.

concerning my friends on my list, one part is i added them actively, the other part is they added me.no matter which way adding each other,i think it should be honest.if somebody get me into unfriendly space, that really get on my nerves.so don't send spam mails to other.that might hurt more or less.
