I am a huge horror fan, it is my favorite genre in films and books. I love being scared. I go to haunted houses for the chilling effects, and I even have my home decorated with horror memorablie. I go to horror conferences at least twice a year even, and belong to quite a few forums that are involved in the horror genre. So I guess you could call me a horror nerd. What are your thoughts of horror? Where do you see it going? (films mainly) and what do you think about all these remakes?

I'm definitely a horror fan. In fact I'm really sad to see Halloween go so soon because there are sooo many great horror T.V shows and movies on during Halloween and I don't get a chance to watch them all because I'm usually too busy during Halloween to be able to stay at home and watch this great stuff. I also collect horror memorabilia, and I read and collect Horror novels, I have recently started to read some of the newer Vampire novels that are out.I also collect paranormal investigation dvd's and horror movies. I really do not care for all of these Hollywood horror movie remakes, why tamper with perfection? The original's were perfectly fine and I assume that Hollywood is running out of ideals on how to make good & new horror movies and that's why they are re-doing the classics. And it also annoys me when Hollywood thinks they have to re-make Asian horror movies for American audiences when the original Asian version are perfect and don't need to be re-made, and I honestly do not mind reading sub-titles!..pfff, Jessica Alba in "The Eye".. What were they thinking?!..LOL

Oh goodie, another fan! And Halloween is my all time fav also. I don't any paranormal investigation dvds, but I really should since I watch them constantly. Wahoo on the Asian films. That is mainly what I collect myself besides Indie horror.

My partner is a horror fan, but she always asked me to accompany her watching those horror flicks even if I don't really like them. She likes being scared just like you, she likes the adrenaline, which I don't like LOL. She likes it when she got shocked, which I hate. But after sometimes being with her and accompany her watching those movies made me think over again about why people likes the horror movies. I got the answer not so long time ago. I think people like horror movies because it is hard to make a really good horror flicks. Mistakes in make ups and special effects would affect a lot in the movie quality. Mistakes in the storyline would change the idea of horror movie into a comedy failure. Making horror movies needs a really high skilled talent because you have to be able to make the story real with nonsense idea. I started to appreciate horror movies since. Even for remakes, they have their own challenge, to make better than the original movies.

Thanks, yep, I think making a horror film that has a real story in it is much harder than a reg. film.

Yes, I am a horror fan. I started reading horror books when I was a child, I think I was 11 years old at that time, and the "horror shelf" at the library quickly became my favourite place. I have read many great stories, and many of them inspired me to write my own stories. Writing a book full of horror stories is still one of my dreams. I also like horror film, and I have seen many good ones, but I actually prefer horror books.
