I am sure all of us have a particular method of studying for exams, how do you go about your exam preparations, all of us differ in our approach and also how we absorb what we read, this discussion can help all of us who are preparing for exams, but what do you feel is the best way to prepare for exams

I wish that I could help you to be able to prepare for an exam with more efficiency, but my method isn't one you can just learn. I have never once studied for any exam since I absorb information like a sponge. However, I do know that writing down information increases your retention of it alot. I don't remember the exact percentage, but it was very significant. So, rather than simply reading, I would suggest reading, copying by hand, then copying by hand again if time permits. Just remember to write exactly what you want to remember, and not just a summary if you need solid fact.

I was not an exceptinally good or meritorius student ! Yes, but then I used to maintain rank in the class to keepmy monthly Merit Scholarship intact in College. For That we need to be in the top eight and I invariably used to be in the list ! For me preparing for the examiation was not a big issue for I had an habit of noting down the class notes first in rough and then after coming to the home first thing I used to do was to fair them. While doing so I used to understand the topic and because I was writing fair half of my preparation was finished then and thre only. All most I used to remember most of the topics because of this and I also had a habit of getting myself prepared for next day's lecture in school or in collge. Thus I was keeping with the pace and I never used to have any problem with my studies. At the time of examination I just go through the notes I prepared already acording to the syllabus and I never used to like to leave any part of the syllabus un covered! Few questions which I used to feel that they may likely to be asked in the exam ,I used to write down them in detail as if I am answering them in the examination and then recheck them if some thing was missing! This has helped me a lot and I was throughly enjoying my exams because of this ! Well during our time we used to have more of descriptive type questions rather than objectivetypes! So for me examination used to be a enjoyable thing and I use totake it as an opportunity to prove myself in the class. Well I am a First Class with distiction holder post graduate!!! LOL !!! I am too old toboast about it now!! Thanks dear friend ! You have taken me to my College and school days ! I am feeling Nostalgic! All the best!

for me, it depends on what type of examination it is, like the last time we had an exam( a written exam), I've done my share of reading for 2 days.. the best time for me is reviewing before the day of the exmaination, It'll be "fresher" that way.. for our oral exam, it took me 1 week to prepare for that..

Preparation? hmmm I dont have an exact way of preparing for an exam. Im the type that studies only for the exam at last minute before the exam. I get to absorb more of what I read or memorize. But sometimes in advance I just read and understand the details then just re-read before the exam. It's effective for me actually although when I need to memorize lots like when we had our comprehensive panel revalida I had to start a week before to memorize the 36 assessments.Hard it is and thank God I pulled in through.

exam is not a hard work ,as long as you prepare for it.first you should make a review the book or the material and take it over serious,to do this you must have a effective way ,beaucuse the time is limited.even the time is enough ,but you have not a effective method, you dont have a very good result.second when you are in exam ,you have a psychology preparation, and make a psychological suggestion to make you calm down when you see a difficult tittle.i think when you have done this two steps, you will be successful....

I actually go over my notes in each class every night. I might not read every word but I defintiely skim it. If I can't remember something in particular that I know is gonna be on an exam, I will make me a 3x5 card with the info on it so I can study it more. This helps me retain what we learned through out the class so that I'm not cramming at the end.

Exam? oh when i in high school, final exam decide your future to college. A lot my friend take private lesson after school, and it cost more money paying private money. And the truth is, i don't understand how their brains work, School-private lesson [and some course i think]-doing homework-take a bath and sleep? nah, i cannot do that. I love hang out or doing sport with my friend after school and review some book/doing homework before i sleep. That what i'm doing till i graduate. 1 month before exam i spend more time for reviewing my note. One think that i know is u don't have to be genius or high IQ, what u need is more diligently T_T

I'm a very bad crammer so I prepare for exams at least a week in advance. I start reading the textbooks and then I read at my notes. Then I'll read both the book and my notes and try to make sense of how things fir together. Finally, I'll ask myself questions and make up a list of possible questions that might appear in the exam. I also need to eat a lot of brain food like chocolate and nuts and get enough rest.

Hello! I hate cramming for an exam. I'm more the sytematic type. That way, I don't sress out myself. I make sure I have all the materials I need for the review, start early, focus more on the more important points that need to be reviewed, refrain from attending to less important matters that may tend to distract, etc. A good night's sleep is also important to me. Thanks! have a nice day rubypatson!

I got my exam tomorrow. I do not feel very prepared for it yet and can not force to start serious studying. But mostly when I am in "studying mood" I read the text for the firs time. During this first reading I do not try to memorize anything just try to identify important parts of the text. I highlight these parts of the text by highlighter. After I finish my first reading I take some break. Maybe also 1-2 days it depends on the amount of time I have. After this period I return to studying text again, this time I try to better understand the highlighted parts of the text and try to learn them. After I think I am prepared enough I try to tell myself what I have learned. Usually this method work for me fine.

I remember during the exams times, i used to be awake till early morning and study. I also used to make notes and note down important points discussed in class. revising that before the exam used to help a lot. Also studying the important topics and analyzing the previous year papers also help you score good. One fond memory of studying late for the exam was drinking cups and cups of coffee to keep myself awake.

Hi, my preparation is the normal way. I read from the text and write the important formulas and equations down in a note book. If I am not confident with those still I am sure on it I keep writing them. And at the last moment I just have a look at the text and the equations and formulas so that I remeber them well during the exam. But my brother's preparation is little new. He is very lazy even to read from the content from the text himself. So someone has to read the book for him chapter by chapter. He will just grasp the things. Since he has good grasping power this method worked for him as well my sister was with him to read the text for his exams. My suggestion is everyone has some level of grasping power and retaining power. So you choose the one which best fits you. All the very best.
