After how many days you FORMAT your PC?

why you don't use a virtual machine? is safe, and avoid you to reformat your computer so often.

Ummm, let me see, never. I dont have the patience to do that every few weeks. I have my anti virus AVG free running, I only use XP firewall (I know ), run CCleaner regularly (used to be called Crap Cleaner because it gets rid of a lot of crap) and defrag every once in awhile, usually every few months. I suppose I could but I do not know where my restore disc is and I would have to reinstall a bunch of programs. Some of my programs are from giveawayoftheday and were free so I would lose those. Maybe if I were better organized I would consider doing a reformat.

hmmm Never I have one pc which has had win98 on it since I built it in 1999, another pc which was bough with xp 2 laptops with xp another laptop with Vista Never had a problem with slow downs or viruses, I use the utilities provided to fix the problem slow down after a new program is installed, I remove the program and use the go back feature, no program I defrag and run chkdsk clean up the temp files, and cache file. Virus's what are they I have McAfee for an anti-virus program and haven't gotten one of those So why format and re-install

I just reformat my PC when it come to worst situation, what i do is apply preventive maintenance procedure monthly to make sure that my PC is in top condition.

geez, what kind of pc do you have that needs formatting? I've had mine (just a Dell) for over a year and NEVER formatted it! I also have a laptop (2+ years) that still runs fast and never needed formatting. What do you do that hurts your machines so much? Do you not use AVG, or other inferior anti-virus? I have tweaked mine to improve speed, adjusted settings, cleaned registry, stuff like that...do you do that before reformatting? Do you keep anything on your pc that you miss when you do that? Dont you personalize it at all?

I reformat my system until it crash but sometime it is manageable when the system is still repairable and can execute safe mode.

hi my self i format my pc 3 months once i dont format my pc when it gets slow. i will do some things to get it fast like cleaning unnessery data and temp files.. and coming to the part of virus i am using best anti virus avg 8.0
