My fiance and I are both trying to make money online. I think everyone knows that, as everyone also knows they are trying to make money. We want to create a website that is not only for us but for other people and find a way to generate a lot of traffic and get donations to the website. I am trying to learn how to crochet so that I can offer things on the website when I feel better about what I create. I have a lot of tabs up on crochet and at first thought about making the website about crochet. I started to, but then changed my mind and decided to create it about Western Weddings. Now I am still stuck, and want to find some inspiration and encouragement from fellow mylotters here.
My fiance and I are honest people, and wanted to know if anyone who is also honest can explain to us how to get visitors through web rings. We are not interested in Traffic Exchange, but are interested in using Web Rings that will hopefully get us associated with more people who share our same interests and who are also making money from their site.
We would like to make this a hobby if possible, something that we can continuously do and that will help people get better at a certain craft, or strategy for a game. If anyone has any suggestions I would greatly appreciate it.
Following are things that we are aware of and know how to do :
Basic HTML
We Have A Website
Learning to Crochet
Fiance is great at video games
Can Research
I'm looking to start something like a work at home advice site, but without all the links and more of frugality, budget, and country living.
If anyone could be of any assistance I appreciate it but do surely hope that you have completely read this before responding!

I know what you mean baby we are both trying to make money online, just like a lot of other people are probably trying to do as well, and I know we want to create a website that is not only for us,but can help other people as well, and we definitely want to find ways to generate a lot of traffic and get donations, and I know you are trying to crochet, and I know that you want to offer things on the website once you feel better about your crocheting, and I know you were thinking about first making a website for crocheting, and then changed your mind and decided to create one about western weddings, which is a great idea, and I know you want to find encouragement and inspiration from our fellow mylotters, and we are definitely honest people and we are looking for other honest people who can explain how we can get visitors through web rings, and I agree we are definitely not into traffic exchange, and it would be awesome if we could make it a hobby, that we could do where we continuously help people get better at a craft,or help them with a game strategy, and I would definitely love to put my video game skills to work where I could help people but also make money,I hope you get a lot of helpful tips from our fellow mylotters, and I love you.

I find that the best way to generate web traffic is through forums. Find forums for things that you are interested in once you have built your website. It doesn't even have to be complete, you can ask friends you make on forums/message boards for feedback on your website. Get them interested in your project enough to keep them checking on the progress, and stay friendly on those forums if you can. Chances are they will know people with similar interests, and point them your way if they like your site. I feel word of mouth is the best means of generating interest, as I'm more likely to visit a website that is suggested by someone I know has similar interests to my own.
Good luck!

I was thinking about forums but I really don't have much time to get on forums. I think I will give it a shot anyway and try for more personal forums, maybe even forums that are about crocheting and video games so that I can hopefully find people who are interested. The only thing that I am worried about is generating viewers who are interested enough to give feedback as some will view and not give feedback...
