Credit Card debt

I have $40,000 in credit card debt. I am current with my payments, minimum payments, no home equity. Any one out there have some ideas without filiung bunkruptcy?

You can probably see if you can get your interest rates lowered.
I also have a large debt, and was always current on my payments. I was laid off from my job four months ago, and last month I was only able to make a partial payment on one card. I thought that payment would show good faith, NOT
The credit card company is hounding me about that payment. I told them that I paid what I was able to, and that I was unemployed, they do not want to hear that. So it doesn't matter how faithful you have been in paying your bill, as soon as trouble hits you, they have no sympathy.
I would suggest you see if the interest can be lowered, and try to make payments every month.
I do not have the money, so I can not make a payment until I get some, they are really bugging me.

By the way, some of these consolidation companies are scams. I got scammed by one and it cost me $389.00, of which I could not afford.
