Hello folks, linux is universally recognized as more safe than win, it suffer less attack from viruses, at least no exe or activex can run in it ;). So i would like to know, do you use linux? If not why? If you use linux, wich distribution do you prefer?

I LOVE Linux. I personally prefer PclinuxOS and LinuxMint for my desktop needs. On the server end i prefer Rehat Enterprise Linux or Debain or Slackware. I have tried my hands with many Linux distributions over last many years and i have finally settled with the distribution mentioned above. Take care.

Hello, i would like to tell you is not exactly in this way. If you try once, you will see that the interface is really similar. Try to use ubuntu, or xubuntu, you will find there a desktop not so far from the windows one, and the function for the common users are easily reacheables from the main menu (like the start menu of windows) Try it from a live cd, if you are scared to install it on your own computer. It don't need any kind of installation, don't make any modification on your computer, and will let you to try the power of linux. Thanks and happy myLotting

"Linux is hard to use" is a well-spread myth from the '90's. The truth is that Linux is actually easier than Windows. Give it a try on a LiveCD (no need to install it) and convince yourself. :)

I'm using linux since year 2000. And I tried many distro including Red Hat, Mandrake (now Mandriva), Debian, Slackware, SUSE, Ubuntu, and some BSD flavor too. But now I stick with Archlinux and I been using it since 2007. Linux is my main operating system (for surfing, chatting, torrent, subtitle timing, watch anime, read manga, burn dvd/cd, etc) and only boot Windows when I want to play online games. But at work I have to use Windows.

Well, I heard from many experts and from my friends that linux is lot safer than windows and fedora......... Yes, it siffers less attack from virus........ But it is not user friendly............. I have a personal computer since 2004........ Still, I am using Windows XP.......... I always prefer to use a user-friendly operating system......... In my college, there is linux and fedora..... I used both of them alternately in college and I still found out that Windows is better than linux and fedora......... HAPPY MYLOTTING!!!!!!!!!

I use Linux to make money. I'm a web designer and use only Linux on my laptop and PCs. I use various open-source CMS systems for my clients, to graphics in GIMP and Inkscape and I don't need to spend hundreds of dollars on proprietary software. I use Ubuntu as my distribution of choice but I've used Slackware in the past and it also rocks. I also mantain several websites and write online for some sites. All from Linux. Haven't touched Windows in 2 and a half years.
