and gotten it? My hubby and I went to see a movie once. The movie was called BATS. It was HORRENDOUS. Not only that, but the movie screen was torn. The theater was a mess. We got up left and went to the customer service desk. We got our money back.

Hi there Er's Mommy!
I haven't done that but if I was in your position, I will do the same. It's a wise decision for the part of the management to give your money back.

No I haven't eve gotten my money back from a movie before. But if I had to deal wih what you did I think I would have wanted my money back as well. It is bad for business when stuff like it being dirty or the screen torn.

That's nice... I went to watch a movie called WallE once with my husband and it was premier class as well, not the normal seats... but omg.. the movie screen went blank after a while, and we needed to go tell the workers there who were having a party as it was after their work time.. We watched the midnight movie.. and then, once we came back, obviously we missed a few scenes, and then we continued watching, but the screen went blank again.. it happened again and again, the other useless people that was watching it, just didn't bother, their malays and probably just wanted to make out as it is illegal to do so in any public places for malays. My husband and I kept going out there and informing those useless cinema workers. They know there is a problem, and yet they go back to their party and not make sure that if the screen blanks out again, to fix it. And they did not even offer to refund us, we did leave halfway to the movie, and wanted to call the customer service number to complain about the movie but eventually we forgotten about it.. And I think since I remembered about it now, I'd like to tell them off but it has been a few months..
I'm glad that you and your husband got back the refund for such a stupid movie.. :)

I've never been to a cinema that didn't gave me the service that I wanted. I make sure that the place is comfortable and that its located in malls because its well maintained. So far all the movies I've watched are the movies I chose. ^^,

I have never asked for my money back at a movie before. there have been many times that I wanted to though. It was either too noisy with people talking or the movie was bad.

wow, good on ya! i find that we dont go to a movie all that much because they seem to be so over priced plus you take your chances because you dont know what the movie is like. we go to see on about maybe once a year. the rest of the time we wait til it comes out on video!

When I was a kid I went to the movies with one of my aunts. The movie was Sister Act 2. The movie reel kept melting and they had to stop the movie 3 or 4 times. My aunt decided to just get our money back and leave because we were missing parts of the movie because the film would melt and they would skip some of the movie in order to get it rolling again.

I have never had to ask for my money back at a movie theater before. Now I dont think it would be right to ask for the money back just because the movie was not any good that is not the theaters fault they didn't make the movie and a movie being bad is a chance you take. But since the screen was torn and the place was a mess I think that gives you the right to want your money back.

I've never had to ask for my money back during my adult life. I think there was once when I was a kid someone took me to a movie and it messed up half way through, so we couldn't finish watching it. They refunded everyone's money for their mistake.
I wouldn't ask for my money back if it was just a bad movie.. I'd consider it my own mistake for choosing to see the movie. But if there were problems with the movie such as it not running correctly, or as you said the screen was torn and the theater was a mess... in that case I probably would ask for a refund if I wasn't able to enjoy the movie because of the theater's mistakes.
Sometimes I'd like to ask for my money back because of other people in the theater. They talk so much or bring in cookies from home and crinkle the wrapper through the whole movie. That irritates me so much! What else irritates me is when a tall adult sits in front of a child. If you see parents with children next to them you'd think you'd sit in front of the parent, not the child. At least the parent has a better chance of seeing over your head.
Well needless to say we don't go see movies very often. We usually rent them once their on video. The last movie I saw in theaters was Hancock, and I went by myself.

No, I have never done this. And I will never say that I won't ever have this chance to either.. I don't blame you and your husband. If the movie has not lived up to your expectations, then by all means get an refund. Wow, with the movie screen being torn, this was grounds for a refund!

I've never been in a situation like that. A TORN screen? That's just horrible. How they ever got away with that in the past (if it had been torn a while and they neglected to replace or fix it) blows the mind.
I saw a movie with my brother once and it stopped twice in the middle. We had to wait about thirty minutes until it started up again. We were given free passes to see any movie we liked and could return to watch it at any time. That's the closest I've ever gotten to something like your circumstance. =P
