is reading horoscope a sin?

To me I not really a firm believer about horoscopes. The reason why is because no one can really look into a person's future but God. Their may be people that may say that they can but that are just predictions or witchcraft. If you want to know about your future just get on your knees and pray for the best and if you believe and don't doubt everything will be okay

I guess it is all relative like everything. Some would consider it a sin, I'm guessing because someone may think of it as an offense against God, which is the definition of a sin. It's all in the way you look at it. I used to read horoscopes for the fun of it and it seemed like it was just written for me but I think all of the astrological signs could pertain to me or anyone. I believe if someone believes in God, which I do, they wouldn't read the horoscopes because I would be believing what someone wrote for me and not what God has in store for me, so I only go directly to Him when I want to know His will I pray that He lets me know rather than psychics or mediums or fortunetellers or astrologers of today because I believe that they might have the right information but they could have gotten it from the evil one because the devil is clever and I would rather go to my Creator. So, I have a tendency to agree with you. I just would rather not call it a sin, I just believe that if I love God I would look to Him and listen only to Him, ya know what I mean. I think it is not a sin.There is nothing wrong in knowing about our future.

The Bible expressly forbids divination, sorcery, and hidden arts (Deuteronomy 18:10-14) God’s people are to heed God only says the BIBLE. Our trust is in God alone, and we know that He will direct our paths [Proverbs 3:5-6]. We cannot determine God's will for our lives through horoscopes. As Christians, we are to read the Bible and pray to God in order to gain wisdom and guidance. For those who are CHRISTIANS, Horoscope should be strongly REJECTED. God Bless You!

its good that you ignore it not because of sin just because its a complete waste of time. do you really think that you can just divide this whole world in just 12 categories . they just write good thins that might can happen to you but many suffers many things worst.

If it helps your cause, the pope of the Catholic church has recently announced that it is OK to believe in aliens because God created the universe so therefore aliens are also creatures of God. The stars were formed because of God, as it goes. Astrology has been around for thousands of years and has helped societies on many levels, not just in trying to "predict the future". Members of the Hindu religion still match their sons and daughters for marriage through Vedic astrology. Worst case scenario: read the horoscope, take the wisdom that works for you, and go on living your life. A horoscope cannot tell you how to live your life, its just like hearing a piece of advice or wisdom from a friend. You can choose how you apply to your life, or even if you do.

I am not a Christian but I dont see how reading ones horoscope could be a sinful thing...To me thats like saying reading the Sunday Funnies is sinful or watching a sitcom is sinful..ALL of them are for entertainment purposes...Now if you got into the SERIOUS side of Astrology then MAYBE you'd be walking a thin line (though I personally dont see why since its a beneficial thing that enhances ones life) but to read the daily horoscope in your local paper or online etc is just for fun..

You are right.Horoscope is just a wild guess as it may not be true all the times.We should believe in one God Almighty and our fate.In Islam,we are not supposed to believe in all such things.We cannot believe in all non-prophetic predictions.

I don't think that this is a sin! I love to read horoscopes anyhow, I have an interest in what they say about my life personally. As far as I am concerned, you are in control of your life, no one else! I pray and give thanks for everything I have in life, I think that this is important. There are no set plans for you! You create your own destiny. Whatever path you choose to follow there will be some kind of outcome, some kind of result. I guess this relates to the cause and effect thing! You cause something to happen in relation to your life; an effect of some kind eventually takes place! Good luck in the planning of your own life and by all means, check out those horoscopes! Andrew

Hi enavnai.I dont know about other religions but according to islam its wrong.so its better to avoid it and just believe in God and pray for our tomorrow.I also use to read it till I knew thats its not allowed in islam.But after knowing I dont read that. By the way thats also waste of time .If we will use that time then we can post here more through which we can gain more knowledge,make friends,earn more,enjoy etc.so its better to use that time in some good things. keep smiling.
