how to manage relationship with mother in law??

I think I am luckier. My future mother in law is very sweet and treats me like her own. Even cooks for me whenever I visit their house. I guess you mother in law is still adjusting with the fact that her son already has another woman in his life, that he is married and not her baby anymore. When my mom married my father, my dad's mother did not attended the ceremony because she cannot accept that my father will be leaving her and live with my mom. She did not talked to my mom for sometime and only accepetd her as her daughter in law when I was born. After that they've become close just like real mother and daughter.

I have often wondered why people think that mother in law's are bad people. I'll admit I was afraid of the "bad mother in law" but my fiance's mom is not a bad person at all. I've heard that the "mother in law is always right" thing as well, but I think that with any mother they are protective over their boys. I know that my fiance's mom will sometimes do or say something that makes me feel as if I am stupid, but I also know she has more experience then I have and I just listen to her and learn from what she does or says. If your having trouble with your mother in law I would suggest a chat, maybe telling her how you feel. Sometimes people act in a way that causes another to feel bad about themselves, or causes the person to not think they like you. This can easily be fixed by just talking to her and expressing your feelings. I hope this helps!

I do not think all mother in laws are like that because not all mother in laws are mean spirited who babble all the time,and always use bad language,and is always angry and thinks that everything is wrong,my soon to be mother in law is a nice person and I enjoy when me and my fiance go visit her,because she is from the country and she says words like Winder and she seems to like me,and I think she will make an awesome mother in law,and I do not think she would every curse at me,think everything I do is wrong,or babble at me.

I guess I was lucky. My mother in law wasn't like that. Have your husband talk to her. Good luck with her.
