Seriously I love Obama. Well ok not literally but I think this guy is great and a breath of frsh air to the US political system. I hope he does not turn out to be like all the rest and I think he will win and be effectively the leader of the free world.
Saying that though I have seen a lot of stuff coming out of the States with T-shirts and videos with some of it being real nasty and not a reflection on the United States I know and love.
So would you let the colour of a man's skin influence your vote?

I don't think that the color should have anything to do with a persons vote. Yet there are those that will not vote for him because of that alone. Well they can but they are out numbered by a long shot of those that don't care that Obama is black. This means that more of the US have stepped out of the racist thought of what color should be president.
And have stepped into what man should be president for the US. His speeches have won the heart of the US and that is the bottom line of this whole race. The people want a fresh face with a new spirit. That will bring the US to a better forefront. Then those that have been in office before him. Right now the only thing left to do is wait to see.
Right now Obama is ahead in the polls and it doesn't look like he is going to loose any points. He is going to be the next president even if there are those that don't want him in office. I won't think anything bad will happen cause it won't. HE will be the next and the first black president of the United States.

Funny you should say that because I raised a thread about that very subject. Obama's parents are indeed white and black so I am unsure as to why he is defined as a black man as opposed to a white man. They are very definate over there in the States to call him the first black president yet this is no more valid than the latest white president.
Either way though great news and I hope he goes on to be a good president.

Yeah I would vote for a black person if they were a republican since im a republican and if the roles were switched and obama was republican and mccain was a democrat I would be voting for obama. So it dosnt really matter to me what color the person is.

That's cool.
I do however know of one person who was a signed up Democrat and has since changed to an independent and whilst he hasn't said it is because Obama is black I have my suspicions!

No offense here, but I think your question/title sounds very racist . But you're question is quite interesting . . .

Well the question is really - are you (the people reading the thread) a racist? The use of the word black or discussing race does not make me a racist. I am white, my wife Asian and my sister in law black African so I am pretty sure I am not racist. I am happy to discuss the subject for what it is.
However there does seem to be a very small number of people who would not vote for Barack Obama based on either his skin colour or because his middle name is Hussein... seriously how mad is that?
I re-iterate... I love the guy and would vote for him definately. I hope he brings America back to where it should be.
