I found out i have mitral valve prolapse (MVP) when i was 17 years old. I had no idea, but I had it ever since i was born! But the "symptoms" did not start until i was 17 years old. The first thing was.... anxiety attacks. I had several of them for months..and went to the hospital every other day, trying to figure out what was happening to me, Dr's had NO answers for me. Then came the heart palpitations, which freaked me out big time, thought i was having a heart attack. Then after about 3 months of all of that, they went away somewhat, and my whole body-arms,hands,legs,chest were in Pain. Then i went to my family Dr. finally, and within seconds of listening to my heart, he sent me for a ECHO test. They then told me i had MVP. So now, today at age 23 years old... I do not take any medication for this, never did. And i manage the pain and symptoms on my own. I have noticed that i don't really have the symptoms like i use to...which is alittle odd. Does anyone else on here have MVP???? If so, please share your thoughts on it,and share your stories with me =) I have done lots of research on MVP,and i too can offer you alot of support and answer questions to your concerns.
