I really need help with square roots. I just don't understand any of the entire thing. So if anyone know how to explain it or know a great teaching website that would be great

The best way I have found is to use prime factorization (do you what that is)? If not... Take your number and make a prime tree so if your number is 25 then your next set of numbers would be 5 x 5, since these are both prime numbers then you can see that 5 is the square root of 25. Example: 121 11 x 11 again since these are both prime numbers your answer would be 11 Example: 225 25 x 9 5 x 5 3 x 3 take half of those numbers one 5 and one 3 and mulitply and you come up with 15. 15 is the square root of 225. I hope this helps. If not I guess there is always a calculator you can use. Good luck to you.

I LOVE purplemath.com I used it when I was in high school and I'm still using it in college. You can also search for square roots on youtube and a few teachers should have some videos on there explaining it. If you still need some help, e-mail me at bfield_chick_89@hotmail.com and I'll see if I can help ya out.
