The best way I have found is to use prime factorization (do you what that is)? If not...
Take your number and make a prime tree so if your number is 25 then your next set of numbers would be 5 x 5, since these are both prime numbers then you can see that 5 is the square root of 25.
Example: 121
11 x 11
again since these are both prime numbers your answer would be 11
Example: 225
25 x 9
5 x 5 3 x 3
take half of those numbers one 5 and one 3 and mulitply and you come up with 15. 15 is the square root of 225.
I hope this helps. If not I guess there is always a calculator you can use.

I used it when I was in high school and I'm still using it in college.
