In my opinion abortion should be the choice of the mother. If abortion is banned there are many bad thing that will result. First, pregnant teens will skyrocket. Without abortoin those teens will never get fair chance at life, and what about a young woman who is raped. she does not want to keep his child. It would merely be a reminder and the child would feel like a bad thing. what r ur veiws

I don't really think abortion is a nice thing, you know, because a baby is being killed, but I am pro choice. I think we should lower the number of abortions by preventing the number of unwanted pregnancies in the first place. But there is just no justification, in my opinion, to completely ban abortion. If the baby is going to be born with Down's Syndrome or deformities, or is from rape, incest, or a young teenager who made a huge mistake, I see no reason why that should not be fixed. If there's too many unwanted children being put in foster homes, they'll be overcrowded and may be mistreated.

I totally agree with you. Though it should not be used as a form of birth control it is the mothers choice. Once my mother was pregnant but had to abort the pregnancy because the baby was deforming and making her sick. If the child was not removed both would die.

The only time an abortion is the answer is if having the baby will seriously endanger the life of the mother. Otherwise, if a teen gets pregnant, or a woman is raped, I feel that adoption is the best answer. First of all, the teen should have to bear at least some accountability for her actions. Abortion should not be used as a form of birth control. She got herself pregnant, so she should have to deliver the baby, then put it up for adoption if she is unwilling or unable to keep it. In the case of a rape, I know the woman didn't ask to be raped, but don't punish the baby for it. Here is an illustration for you. If you lived on a farm, and a fox was killing your chickens, would you kill your pig because he saw the fox kill the chicken? Of course not, because the pig was an innocent bystander. I used that illustration to get this point across. If a woman is raped, she is the victim. The rapist is, of course, to blame. If she gets pregnant from that rape, the baby is just an innocent bystander. That baby should not be punished for someone else's wrong-doing any more than the pig should be killed because he saw the fox kill the chicken. That baby should be given a chance to live. I know nine months is a long time to ask a woman who was raped to give of herself to have the baby, but once the baby is born, she could give it up for adoption to a good home with parents who would love it. She would never have to see that baby again, or at all for that matter.
I know there are those of you out there who scream for a woman's right to choose. The problem I have with that is looking at it from the baby's perspective. That baby isn't able to choose. That baby isn't capable of making that choice. That baby is innocent and defenseless, no matter if it was the result of a rape, or the result of a teenager's being irresponsible and getting knocked up. Who are we to say that baby can't live?
The only time abortion is an option is, as I stated earlier, keeping the baby will seriously endanger the life of the mother. Otherwise, adoption would be a more ethical choice.
