Posting a new discussion or responding to others - What do you prefer?

Hi all. I like to post new discussions but I run out of topics I like and know well. Usually I take subjects that interest me and on which I have experiance so that I will be able to provide some useful information. So I start responding to other's post. I choose the posts that interest me.
I don't treat responding to a post and posting a new discussion seperately. But is there difference in the money we make by posting a new discussion to responding to others? Awaiting your responses to know myLot better and earn better. Thank you.

To be honest, I find it more convenient to post a response to a discussion than to start a new one of my own. Not that I'm really concerned on which type of posting would earn me more but, receiving a lot of responses to a discussion that I started has its advantages and disadvantages.
For one, I feel really happy if someone would be considerate enough to post a response to a discussion I started and would even make an effort to make it a quality post. I have often experienced posters here that would just post something for the reason of just being able to post. I mean, a response with no value to start an exchange in the discussion which often makes me think, 'why did that member even post at all?'
Another would be that if it becomes a hot topic of some sorts, I feel really impressed that a lot of members are participating. Meaning that we somehow all share that same particular interest. The draw back would be that some responses would be similar if not really identical to each other when it comes to content. I end up paraphrasing the replies that I have posted before on previous participants in the discussion.
Of course, when a good idea comes into mind, I always try to search here in this site if someone else has already started a similar discussion and if nobody has yet started a discussion in mind, then that's the time when I'd start it myself (^_^ )
Have a nice day, sindu234, hope you enjoy it here in this site (^_ )

Hi, Thanks for your views. You value quality responses as well when you post a response you sure have quality content. As well, you are well organised. Before posting a new discussion you take time to see that the topic is new an that is not discussed before. Cheers. Knowing your experiance and views are valuble. Thank you. Happy myLotting.

I sometimes dont see any discussion I wanna answer to so I go and open a new one :) I like to do both really, I dont mind starting discussion because I never think of what I gonna say it just pops in my mind and there it is. The problem with answering is that there are so many new topics but none catches my intress.

Hi, Good. You are able to publish some contents on the go. Well, I am not so much yet. I think of the points I need to discuss and re think if it was relevant and useful and then when my inner mind gives a "go" I do post or respond to any. Thanks for your views. Happy myLotting.

as far as earnings go i really don't think it matters, I have made more money in a day commenting on discussions than I have posting my own or even responding once to a discussion. I like having indepth discussions with people and don't really pay attention to how I am posting it.

Hey Erilyn, Thanks for the information. I never knew that we earn for commenting. Nice. I had this question in my mind whenever I comment on someone who has responded to my post. But will keep thinking what if I use that time in responding to other's posts or starting a new discussion. Now, I have got the answer. I will start commenting whole heartedly without worrying that my time is being spent without making an earning. Happy myLotting.

i would rather respond to the discussion rather than posting a new discussion. i always respond to the discussions which are interesting topics and i can connect to it.

Hi daceyp, I agree to your views. There are times when our mind goes blank. We are not able to think. So it is better to involve in a discussion that interests us. Sometimes when I start myLotting for the day, I am so blank, will not know the purpose, so will be just going through so many discussions already posted and once I am hooked in the one that interests me, my day at myLot starts. I start responding, commenting, and if my mind works still more will post a new discussion too. This is how my mind goes blank and revitalises. Happy myLotting and thanks for sharing your thoughts.

I have not been here long but I have already found it ismuch easier for me just to respond to posts instead of starting them and I do not think there is any difference in the pay-out.

Hi Firefly99, Me too am new to myLot. Good to know that you have learnt the secret, ie. posting a new discussion and responding to the already posted ones earn the same amount. It was surprising to know that even I comments are counted on myLot earnings. Happy myLotting and best wishes to explore myLot and earnings. Have a great day.

I prefer responding to others. I don't have a lot of time to sit and think about what I'm gonna post.

Hi, it is true. We need time to think of a good topic and to to provide some quality contents. So responding to others is better when considering the time. I still don't understand if there is any difference in earnings when it comes to posting a new discussion and responding to a post. Thanks for your view.
