Congrats. Is it in the same location as the present job because if it is further away it might not be worth it if the extra money will go towards gas. What do you think your going to do?

Congratulations!! How'd that affect your current job? Yes it's happened to me. I don't enjoy being in such a situation, because it would be up to me to choose. Plus I don't like telling someone I'd have to refuse his/her offer. Also, it leaves me wondering if the other job would be better. So which one will you pick?

Congrats! I bet this is the time for you to makes some demand to your current employer..hehehe...Ask for salary increment if they dont want you to go for a new job. I've seen a lot of my friends doing this and most of them are successfully getting a new pay rate. Anyway, no matter which job you choose, just want to say All the best

Congratulations Louise! I have not been offered a new job right after starting one but I have been fortunate enough to have several offers at the one time to think over. It is really rewarding to be in this situation because you can play them aqll off against each other for the best package and having back-up choices is always welcome too! I hope you get hired and the job is everything you hoped for and more.

That would be kind of fun to be in the position of turning down a job one didn't like as well and getting the one that one likes better... Such power you have to make a decision. Congratulations.

yes ithappened to me last year ... I went for a job I really wanted.. they said I was hired but it was days and I still heard nothing.. The job I am at now called me for and interview and I was hired on the spot.. Needless to say the first place that said I was hired .. did not even call me back for almost 3 weeks .. I am still at the job I started and loving it ... got a promotion from cashier to asst manager within 10 months of working their.... not to shabby huh Just my two cents Hugs me

I have done that job, and it is an okay job. It is usually the day or two days after the sales paper comes out. For instance, our sales start Wednesday, and come out in the paper on Tuesday. Wednesday after 9:00 a. m. was when I would start. I worked some in Dillons (Krogers) and scanned some magazines in Wal Mart. It is a good job. Enjoy it.

LOL I know, pay some bills but you've got to have some fun too, right? After all, it's 3 more dollars an hour that you're going to be making than you would have been, right!? Yes, I have been offered 2 jobs within a few days of each other before. I had already started the one when I decided to take the better paying one. Congrats on the higher paying job offer.

When I first moved to Florida I applied for so many jobs that I got hired by three in one day. Then I had the tough job of choosing one and call back to the other two and letting them know what I was doing. Never burn a bridge you know.

In trucking it seemed to happen about a month after I had been hired elsewhere. Most companies are pretty close to each other on pay and such so I never switched that quickly but I was always surprised at the occasional company that got mad because I didn't take them up on the offer after they called back 3 months after receiving the app. It's particularly interesting because, unless there is a serious industry problem(like fuel costs going up $.75 overnight)There is always a trucking company who will hire you on the spot and have you on the road within 48 hours. Now if only I could get my back fixed so I could get back in that situation.
