If Obama wins will that be the beginning of the persecution of Christians in USA

I was reading a bit about Obama and how he had leftist socialist teachings, was the most far left of the Democrats. There were other things, his stance on same gender rights,m etc. and his view on abortion, etc. Now I know that these are counterproductive to Christian teachings, that is traditional Christian teachings who believe that homosexuality is a sin and that it is not right to kill or punish the children for the crime of their fathers (abortion being one way to kill a child for its parent's sins or lustful behavior, greed, etc.)
So I was wondering since we in Canada have a homosexual friendly and we have the human right commission, and also that in Europe, they have secularism, whether if Obama wins, that there will be place left for Christians to flee and that the verbal persecution of Christians may turn violent in the States as well as Canada, because Obama will not order those who do the persecutions to cease?
So do you think that if Obama wins, it will be the beginning of the great tribulation? I believe it will start when all the elect have been found, and I nave no idea when that will be. But I do know things will get worse and worse.

That is so true. I am not American, but I read everything about what both candidates stood for. Just when we had our election up here, I read what our candidates stood for and voted for the best one. He did not get in, because Christianity is very unpopular up here, that is the real Christianity. I am not talking about the Christians who do not take the Bible seriously.

Real Christians obey Christ. God hates sinners. HE hates sinners so much that HE showed the beauty of nature, so that they would see that and read the Bible, join a Church and fight against sin. HE made the results of s*xual sin, AIDS, and vd so horrible (sterility) so that one would never want to commit that sin.
We all know the woman who was caught in adultery. According to Jo, Jesus should have said, "Keep going and sleeping around with your married lover, Jesus will forgive you." but HE did not. HE said, "go and sin no more." She probably went back to her husband or if she was single, married and had a family. What would have happened had she kept on cheating?

Obama says he is a Christian, but anyone can say it. It is his actions that will prove otherwise. Just wait and see.

That is what I would say. When my first church was more interested in social policies and having Whitesundays then in preaching the gospel I left. And kept sending until I found a church that preached the word of God. Obama should have left his church the minute he hard Rev. Wright sprew racial hatred.

Yeah, I'm with the others before me.
He doesn't strike me as the kind of man who'd allow such persecutions of Christians like that of Nero's time. He's well aware of due process, having taken up law. Plus, he and his family wouldn't be spared either if this were to happen.
As well, not until and unless their government ceases to be democratic do I see this changing for the worse.
VERBAL persecutions have been happening a lot and everywhere almost. (Just take a look in here at MyLot). Will just have to put up with these.
The Great Tribulation? Won't come until the Antichrist shows himself. By then, believers would've already been "raptured." So, peace to you, sister. Keep yourself in God's love.

I think he is one of those who will allow the great tribulation by his silence. You know, that phrase about good men doing nothing. I do not believe he is the big baddy anti-Christ, but he will certainly make it easier for him to come. No idea when that will happen. I just hope America wakes up, but it will be like it was here in Canada, when Trudeau came in, everyone was happy = well I am a conservative type and our family never voted for Liberals (that is the Canadian Democrats) anyway but gradually laws that promoted the far left liberal agenda came in and now we have a human rights commission, i.e. kangaroo court, where if you are a Christian and stand up for your rights, you will always loose. Just wait a few years.
The big baddy anti=Christ will take advantage of the hatred and make his entrance.

No, there is no reason for that. Unless Obama sat in a Christian church for years pretending, lol. I don't think he could undermine freedom of religion that quickly anyway. And why should it turn violent? Thus far it's pretty much been quite peaceful as in you have your opinion I have mine.
There may be many bad things that might come out of Obama's leadership, but IMO this is not one of them.

I think he will give carte blanche or remain silent. He does not have to actually do the persecution, he can just keep silence. I think it will start very sneakily, and his attitude will give those who hate Christians opportunity. And besides a church that preaches racial hatred against whites and where its preacher says Da*m America is no right to call itself Christian. A Christian preacher should pray that Americans turn from their sinful ways, and not curse the country he lives in.

First the 'born again Christian' tag is hi-jacked and now 'fundamentalist'. All Christians are in effect both born again and fundamentalist - but if you used those phrases about yourself, you would automatically be branded with the 'crazies'.
I prefer to say 'I follow the Bible, or I follow Christs' teachings' - if calling yourself Christian aligns you with those who claim to know Christ but have never heard of humility, then I don't feel inclined even to call myself Christian.
These people are harder to 'reach' than Atheists! so it would be sad to see them leave because they think they've got it all sorted and they need help...

There are time I think he is the anti-christ. It will get worse. He will put in federal judges that will do a lot of damage and they will be in long after he is out of office. This election shows that we have a lot of liberals in this country. Just wait until they see what he is capable of...more than they asked for.

well, obama won. Are you really that afraid of homosexuals etc? I mean, really, they are just people and they deserve to live happily just as they are. It is NOT a sin. You should watch the documentary, "For the bible tells me so". It is very very enlightening. It is on the net and can be viewed on your computer. I did a discussion on it a bit back and another mylotter provided the link. I dare you to watch it.

If they would not try to influence people, to demand that children in public schools be told that two 'gay' men can live together s*xually as well as a man and a woman who are married, and can raise children and their children can make the choice of being either 'gay'or straight. Oh the Bible says that homosexuality is a sin. You read all of Leviticus and read of THE Kings and the Chronicles where it says that this king put the sodomites out of the land, where it reads about Sodom and
Gomorrah and where Paul the Apostles says to the new Christians 'and such were some of you" then you will know that homosexuality is a sin.

suspensful..as you know by now ...i totally respect your opinions but you completley sideswiped me in your answer here. Like I said in my first response to you...watch..."for the bible tells me so"....then continue answering on this topic. do you have children? If so would you want them so condemed if oh lord forbid they were to be gay? OR ar you the type of parent your kids would lie to and pretend to be anything other than what they were in an attempt t o gain your acceptance?? I suspect the latter, sadly. you will temporarily get your false sense of security.....good luck with that.

Hey sid556, with all due respect, I don't care what documentary you watched and what it said. Man made that documentary and man can lie. But God cannot lie and He tells us in the Bible, in Leviticus 18:22, Thou shalt not lie with mankind, as with womankind: it is abomination. Homosexuality IS a sin, for the Bible tells me so.

I was afraid of this. The man talked a lot a said little of substance. We still don't know what his "change" will be. But I know that we'll have less freedom-economically, religiously and in speech (I think). The people elected a snake oil salesman that bamboozled them with flowery speeches without substance. They were so sick of things as they are that they were willing to gamble on someone who refused to talk specifics and now we'll all pay.
Stand strong. The Bible warned us of persecutions and tough economic times.

I am afraid that when the persecution comes that most of us will not know about it unless we get Christian online newspapers and subscribe to Christian magazines and newspapers, because the secular media will keep quiet about it. We have that going in in Canada. The secular media puts that in the back pages or gives it their slant. Why we did not hear about the massacre of the Christian Sudanese except on Christian information sources, but as soon as the Muslims started to massacred the black Muslims, then it was in the secular newspapers all right.

So true, dragon. The Bible does warn us of this. Christians will be persecuted. Things are getting worse and worse and I believe we are living in the end times.
One thing is for sure and nothing and no one can change: God is still in complete control! Jesus Christ is still the Lord and Savior and He is returning! Praise God!
Jesus Christ is my Commander in Chief!!

After last night's election I am all for the Rapture to come and the sooner the better. I am terrified at what might become of our 'religious' freedoms in this country. He already kicked reporters off his plane that didn't back him- what's next? The only time liberals believe in free speech is when it pertains to themselves and their agenda- they want to quiet Christians because we are the opposite of what he believes. Obama doesn't want any opposition. But becoming a Christian we know that we are subject to persecution. In the end Jesus will come and take all His children home and those who are left behind will have to live with their choices.

True believers "Christians" have always been persecuted. If a lot of people are not against you for the way you serve God then you are not doing it right. Man's way does not match God's way. If you do it God's way you will step on a lot of Christian toes. I choose to do it Gos's way.

That is right, They persecuted Christ and they will persecute those who follow Christ as well. I wonder if people will realize that persecution will not mean just not giving one a job or calling him dirty names when someone says he is a Christian. It will be like it is in the Muslim countries where you may actually lose your life and they will make you die slowly and painfully.

Good Gods, I haven't seem bigotry of that magnitude in a long time. Really, honestly do you keep a straight face while saying that garbage nonsense? I can't see how you can. You scream of persecution but you persecute another human being for being different from you all the while screaming of your own persecutions? That really does not make sense to me, I can't wrap my mind around the idea of screaming persecuted while persecuting another person. Doesn't it defeat the purpose of your arguments, isn't that ironic?

From the events of the past few months wouldn't anything surprise me right now. I made the statement once before that I believed Obama was a plant that is being inserted into our government by some rich Muslims. Nothing has changed to tell me I am wrong. We will see though want we. I hope I'm wrong. If I'm not we are going to see some drastic changes pretty soon that we are not going to agree with. If you remember Bush and Company gave the President some new powers he didn't have before. If not used right some of them could hurt the American people badly.

What nonsense. Why should prosecution of Christians begin. Do not spread misinformation about Obama and what will happen with Obama's coming to power. Nothing of the sort will happen. Obama is a mature sensible and fair man. He will be better than most of the Presidents that USA has had. he will prove that non whites are aa good if not better than whites and have a large and compassionate heart.
The trouble plaguing the world is that religion is being given too much importance. Religion which is supposed to have a calming and soothing effect has become the cause of conflict which is far greater than nattional boundaries and regional feelings. Religion should unite and not divide people. Religion shoudl be a personal matter of faith and not a public cause of tension. Religion should be given less importance and should be low key. There are more important issues to worry about.

It seems you have got a bias against Obama because he is part black. Obama is a good man. he has comprehensively beaten Mc Cain. he has comprehensively beaten Hillary Clinton despite her charisma. He couldn't be wrong for USA. The world has a lot of hope from him. He is sharp, intelligent and energetic.
It is not the colour of his skin that is important, it is he qualities. This election is a water shed in a way. it has negated the importance of colour. Any man or woman, who is good can aspire to the highest office what ever his skin colour. Remember one thing "Skin is only skin deep." His heart is American and now he actually represents America so I bless him and hope he canbring in a new world order and change th course of history.

Actually the trouble was that the media was behind him 100 percent, except for Fox news and the people just saw that he was part Black, that he was going to tax the rich and help the poor, and did not read about his background, that he was the most far left candidate that there ever was. Why Bill Clinton had nothing on him! Oh did I say anything about iq test? yOU=-=---!!! I think those that voted for him did not read what he was really about. They just believed all the things he said that was good about himself. I went on the internet, I went through the articles on him and read both good and bad. I also read about McCain, both good and bad. I saw that some of their ideas were similar, but you have to take in account their ideology. They are as different from night and day.

Well, he did win.
Are you worried about nothing? First of all Obama is a Christian. It can be
verified that he attended the same church for many many years. He did not become a Christian over night. Secondly I believe the majority of the population in the USA as in Canada are Christian. You mention our country Canada. Surely you must admit that it is a most liberal country and also mainly Christian. The last census figures show that only 1% of the population was Jewish and 1.5% of the population was Muslim and even smaller percentages other non Christian religions. There are about 35 Million Canadians so figure out how few are there to threaten your religion.

Those percentages are actually quite skewed lindalinda. I would say the majority of Canadians are indeed from one type of Christian doctrine or another but there are more non-denominational members than just a small percentage. I'm a pagan Canadian with Unitarian Universalist ties (a congregation that accepts all doctrines from all religions and welcomes all within their congregation from Muslim, Christian to Pagan).
Yes, Canada is indeed a liberal, socialist country. Canada, as a whole, believes in multiculturalism and multi-religion. Canada has always been a path blazer for peace, acceptance and multicultural cohabitation. It's one of the only countries where people can retain their cultural identity and still adopt the Canadian cultural identity with it. As a society we certainly believe (and our laws prove this in supporting these beliefs) that all people have the right to individualism without persecution. Mind you, no nation is perfect and we do have issues of our own but I've seen Canada as the most advanced in laws in our times to protect individualism from our discrimination laws to our Charter of Rights. I can truly say I am proud to be Canadian.

Leftist socialist teaching, if that is meant Marxism, I don't want to accept. But I am afraid too many Christian in the West equate concern for the poor and the underdogs with leftist socialist leaning, which I is quite in tune with biblical teaching. After all Bible is loaded with message for justice, and God himself being a just God.
I believe when Obama said he's a believer I trust his words. It's not fair to say, "you're not a believer" when someone confesses to being a believer. As the Bible says the fruit will tell what the tree actually is like. I don't think Christians will be persecuted in the US even if Obama is not a believer.

Okay, abortion=sin, homosexuality=sin, lottery tickets=sin. Have you ever sat down at a table....say, like Thanksgiving and ate and ate until you thought you were going to be sick? That's a sin. Have you ever told a lie, even a small one? That's a sin. Do you judge...man, I don't even need to ask that question.

Your quiestioning Obama's election - He is already elected by the time you read this - shows how wicked your thoughts are.
Listen, suspenseful, First of all Barack Obama is a Christian ... So, him prosecuting the Christians is out of question. Secondly, only a Christian can stand for the President of the USA ...
So, how can he or why will he prosecute the Christian lot?
Him being half-Muslim does not stand ... for he, himself, is not a follower of the greatest religion on Earth, Islam.
Think before you post such absurd questions'!
