Yes! it really is. I have a year and 5 months old son and I could say that he really is very naughty. He likes to go to places, i mean places like, under the sofa, above the table, places like that. As a mom I need to be with him every time in order to avoid any misfortunes that might happen like bumping his head or falling on the floor. It is really hard to nurture a child. We have a saying in the Philippines that once you get to be a parent it is the life's way of telling you that you are already paid with your parents hardships and heartaches in nurturing you. And I believe I am already out of debt with my mom, especially with my son now that is hard to take care of him. Not that I don't like my career as a mom, but once in a while you also feel a little frustrated. However, what's the best thing for being a mother are the kisses and hugs you will receive at the end of the day. The smiles and the learning you get in a small little creature.
Yes, being a mom is hard, but being a mom is the greatest, no position in a company or salary wage increase can return the happiness you can get whenever you see your child's development everyday, knowing he is healthy and growing to be one of the best person you never thought of having.
Have a good day!^-^

I would say a Mother has the noblest career of all. Motherhood is a great blessing and we mothers are honored for our invaluable contributions to the training and development of our children. A mother's role could really be the greatest role God has conferred upon any human being because it is a task of bringing forth a a life. We carry the life in our womb for 9 months. When we give birth to the child our duty does not end but rather it is but the start because we have to nurse , nurture, teach, and love our child with a motherly love so unique to our gender. This is a great task because we are molding a future generation. We are charged with the awesome task to train the next generation. A mother's influence is the most powerful because we are always with our child. Our influence could be easily implanted in their youthful mind.
I understand you fully well, a child is by nature playful and innocently he could hurt himself if the mother is not mindful and caring. A mother's job is not only 8 hours like an office employee but 24 hours a day. Imagine how your eyes should really be upon him whereever he goes because you would not want him to slip nor stumble. Imagine how you will run after him while he roams around the house. Imagine how you will feed him and sing lullably to put him to sleep. Even while sleeping you are still nurturing because the child is beside you when he sleeps and your embrace and caress give him the assurance of security. How could a mother be paid in terms of money. No amount of money could compensate the gigantic task of a mother. But there is a reward worth all her effort and sacrifices...that is seeing his child grow healthy, wise, successful and a good citizen of his country.

And may I add the photos of my twin grandchildren who are also so playful and active just like your kid. No matter how hard it is to take care of them. Their laughter, embrace and kisses are more than enough to soothe the weary and tired body of their mother.

I think stay at home mom's are not given the respect they deserve. Alot of people just see them as unemployed or whatever. I have 4 children and I have not worked since I was 9 months pregnant with the second one. SO the last day I work outside the home was Dec. 1, 2000. I work harder now then I did at a job where I recieved a paycheck. My husband does heating and air, plumbing and electrical. He has it easy. I deal with beads up noses, green peas in ears, dogs who got into the halloween candy, missing glasses, packing lunches, etc. Every morning I have 4 kids up, dressed and lunches packed, and out the door by 7, then his stuff all ready for work by the time he gets up at 8. Then kids home, homework done, bathes, dinner all before he gets home. And he wonders why I fall asleep while watching tv or taking a bath

Being a mom or a dad is the most important job in the world. Moms and dads shape the future of our world. There is a saying"The hand that rocks the cradle shapes the world." I believe it with all my heart. There are a lot of frustrations with being a mom or dad but the rewards out weigh those frustrations. I have raised 4 kids and 2 grandkids and even with the frustrations I wouldn't trade it for any thing.

hahaha! being a mom really needs all of our time in order to take care of our children, although it frustrates us sometimes, it comes with the mother hood. My son is already a hurricane also. He always tumbles down every figurines and would play with his toys then leave it somewhere. we sometimes found his toys in awkward places like under the tables or at the back of the appliances. ^-^

imagine having to work and be a mom at the same time. twice the hardship, i must say, but at the end of the day, it's true that no amount of sacrifice is ever too small to give to our children. just seeing our child's faces when it breaks into a smile, or when our child reaches out to our face to touch it, or when we are awoken by their movement on our side and opening our eyes to see them staring at us like we are the most important person in the world, now no amount of money can replace that. i am glad i had svet when i did. even though life is hard on us, we manage to be strong because she gives us the strength and the motivation to go through life.

And that is Mother's LOVE. He 's just a small child of course will be very active than you! lol.. He's so adorable till hide under sofa? That's really funny at least his mother were playing hide & seek with him. Whenever you saw your child's cry, laugh or naughty somehow you would felt angry in your heart. I'm sure his smiling could erase all your hardship period.

It is the best job in the world. It is our piece of immortality. The reward is seeing how wonderful the kids turn out as adults. If it wasn't hard it wouldn't mean as much. You are not alone.Another payoff is perhaps being able to spoil future grand kids!

You are right in everything that you say it is "one hell of a career" it is hard and some days very frustrating. I think that it is probably one of the most rewarding though at times, I have a son who is 17 and he has been a nightmare to raise at times and in all honesty sometimes he still is but I think that he is also growing up and turning into a nice young man. He has just applied and been accepted for a career in the forces next year, to see him succeed in that would make everything I have been through worthwhile.

Your son is so cute. Yes, it can be very hard being a Mum, and it can be very rewarding also. I have four children and the stage your son is at is a hard stage. He is walking around and discovering everthing he sees.
Yes toddling is a hard stage, but it will get easier. We call it the terrible twos in the UK, but I think it should be from when they first walk and crawl.
Glad you are enjoying all the rewards and smiles. It makes all our hard work during the day worth while.

Hello, As per my views being a mother is the greatest carrer in life. Not all the women are blessed with motherhood. Motherhood is a lovely phase of life to enjoy as well cherish at a later later in life.
The first steps of the child, the first words from the child, and his crawlings, calling you mom, and could continue to say almost everything a child does, would makes us happy. All the hard works of the day is rewarded by a single smile or hug at the end of day from your child.
Take care of a child is the greatest responsibility one could have ever handled or to handle in her life. God has given as a lovely little one in our hands. We care for the child with all our love and life. So, mother is a wonderful gift and greatest responsibility.
I agree to you, when considering the hardships of motherhood. I see my sister loose her weight like anything. The reason she says is running behind her 2 yr old makes her shed pounds.
Let us think on positive side and look motherhood as a joy, commitment and a great responsibility and enjoy each day taking care of the child and work towards shaping his/her future. Thanks for sharing your motherhood experiance with us. Happy myLotting.

Taking the responsibility of being a mom is a great one. If you are a full time mom, it has lot of advantages in shaping the child. Your child is still small and so cute. He has to grow above two years to really know how being a mother for full time has benefitted him. I have a 21/2 year old son and I can tell that God has helped in ways beyond my understanding in tough situations. Being a mom is tiring but really rewarding in the days to come!

Yes being a mom is a hell of a career and you never get a day off! I agree with you it is hard being a mom, but every day that goes by the children learn and grow and gets a little easier because they learn how to do things for themselves and are able to communicate their needs to you. As this may be, they still need mommy to make sure everything is all right and to give them the love and attention they need! (and daddys too!)

Yes, it's a full-time job to care for and nurture a child. But the returns are priceless. I would never trade it in. I'm glad I made the decision to give up a well-paying job to be with my kids. And I can see they benefited a lot as well.

Motherhood is the most important, most difficult career choice in the world and certainly the most rewarding. I do not ever say "I'm just a mum". I made the choice to give my all to this job and, although I do miss my previous paid occupation and there are days when it's all a bit too hard, I am bringing up, teaching and shaping another human being and it doesn't get much more important than that.
