With my finances the way they are at the moment, and Christmas coming up, I was wondering if anyone had any cost cutters for Christmas shopping. Any specials for kid's toys and gift buying? Any easy handmade gift ideas?

I think shopping at places like Family Dollar or Dollar General is always a way to save some. They usually have some decent things at low prices. Also, a lot of times you will be able to find clearance items on Amazon.com, and they have deals on shipping, or throw in a free item with certain purchases. I used to do that a lot. Ebay is another good way to go!

I recommend shopping craigslist.com or decide exactly how much you are able to spend total for all and or each family member and get gift certificates. I realize that is a bit unpersonable but reality is they probably wont like what you pick out so you mide as well let them get whatever they want with a certificate. Good luck!

Extended family could draw names (if everyone will agree to that) and if your brave enough go to the day after Thanksgiving sale. Ebay is great as well. Good luck to you!

Try ebay you can get some great stuff really cheap. We are also on a tight budget and as far as my kids we are going to stick with the bear necessities, clothes, shoes, books, learning games. I have asked every one to limit there toys to 2 per a child. They have enough.

I always enjoy when people make me cookies, fudge, etc. I think that they put more thought and effort in it. Homemade candy is great too. inexpensive and wonderful. I hope this helps a little bit.

I think a great gift is putting all the dry ingredients to make cookies or brownies in a jar and giving that away. It is cheap and I know I always like getting them as gifts.

Well, for extended family, I'm thinking of looking at the dollar Tree or Family Dollar. I usually can find expensive looking gifts for under $10. I'll probably get a lot of my daughter's gifts there too.
