If You Are From The USA, Did You Vote?

and who did you vote for? I know there has been a lot of great debate over this very thing, but since most of the people here have had time to go and Vote, or I hope you did, I was wondering who people really voted for, and when did you make that decision as well? Personally, I had a lot of mixed feelings over time who I was going to Vote for. I just had a lot of mixed feelings on a couple different issues, but in the end I voted for Obama due to I was not pleased with the choice of Sarah Palin as VP. Personally, I feel she hurt McCain's chance at being the next President, and wonder what would have been the outcome if he would have chosen Romney instead? So the results are coming in, and it looks quite interesting for sure. All I can say, is I would not have missed this Vote for sure, and no matter what happens in the next 4 yrs. we just need to remember only time can tell where things can really go from here. ~~TINA~~

I voted, and I voted for McCain, even though I am a Democrat. I have heard Obama say nothing that makes me think he will be worthwhile as President. As for Palin, I think she would be fine as VP, since the VP does little while in office beyond breaking any possible tie votes in the Senate. Heck a chimpanzee could do that As I told my daughter, who loves Obama, we shall see how things are four years from now

A chimpanzee could do that as long as nothing happened to the President. The office of the VP is to able to move over to the president if need be. Palin wasn't near as smart as a chimpanzee.

I disagree, but I realize you have the right to your opinion I think Palin could do as well a job as President as Biden, should something happen to Obama. And, she'd be a heck of a lot more fun to look at than any of the rest of them

Well, now we have Obama and Biden in office come January, so we shall in time see if America and the people picked it right. I am sure that there will be the critics as well, but only time can tell.

I voted this morning for Obama. All I had to do was read his education plan and I was extremely happy. I was not worried if McCain was elected until he picked Palin. I actually really liked McCain in 2000 but I don't know I think he changed a lot. Glad to see you got out and voted.

I was all set to go out and vote this morning...until I found out my voter registration had expired. I would have been far more disappointed if it weren't for the fact that my intended presidential pick wasn't even available as a write-in candidate. Oh well - I'll try again in four years. Next time, however, I'll make sure to actually check and see if my voter registration was renewed, rather than just assuming it was.

I voted for McCain even though I was really not a fan of either candidate. I would have preferred to vote for Romney as well, but it was not an option. I was just amazed at the other candidates on the list. I checked out their webpages and wondered how they even got on the ballot. Anyway, today we have a new president who I will back and support as the choice of the people. I'm just glad that we have the opportunity to vote and show the world how it's done! No matter who is elected, our country will unite and back the new leader and show the world that democracy is alive and well.

My husband and I voted this afternoon for Barack Obama. I originally supported John McCain as we are Republicans but I became more and more disenchanted with him after the Primary, after he chose Sarah Palin as his running mate, after his policies became more defined. I might have stuck it out with him if he had chosen Romney...I think he would have helped McCain to formulate a better plan for this nation...but for whatever reason, he didn't.

I did vote, a week ago. I too had some mixed feelings in the beginning but after doing my homework and really trying to figure out the facts my choice was much easier. When McCain chose Palin, he was no longer an option. That brought it on home for me. Obama was my choice and the one that I voted for.

This seems to be the hot topic for discussion tonight. I voted after I got off work tonight. The line was long to the firehouse where the voting took place. The country needs change. I hope that it shows in the polls too.

Yes, I did vote; I voted on the actual Election Day because that was the only day the polls in Alabama were open. And man, were they open. Folks lined up at the local high school where we go to vote at. It was crazy once you got to the polling booth itself because you were registering, but you couldn't do anything else, and that was a mess. but all in all, the whole thing took an hour and a half for me. I voted for Obama. From the first time I saw him speak at the 2004 convention, I was interested in him; I felt he was coming into the game a bit soon when he put his hat in the ring, but with time, I warmed up to him; I felt McCain had a good chance but when he chose Sarah Palin, that just killed it for him; We don't know her and now, she's out there still speaking to the media and such; I'm like, ok, it's over now.

Don't you know you aren't suppose to ask people who they voted for:) LOL! Yes, I voted and for Obama. I feel that our country needs a change. When things aren't working, change them, don't just keep going deeper and deeper into a hole. I didn't like McCains choice of Palin. I think he chose her just to get the Hillary votes.

I am from the United States and no I did not vote, and I did not vote for several reasons one because me and my fiance did not follow the campaigns of either candidate so we are not sure where each candidate stood on the economy or on other issues, two because I personally do not like either candidate and think they are both wrong for the job,but it can not get worse than Bush with his unending war in Iraq, which was pointless if you ask me,there was so much controversy with both candidates and they both seem to run slander campaigns,I think politics is nothing but beurocratic nonsense and that the government does not care about the little people so I will probably never vote, which is fine by me,and I do not think my fiance cares too much about voting either, and my brother was trying to pressure me and my fiance into voting, but we told him no,and if I was going to vote I would have voted for Ralph Nader.

If I was from USA, I might vote for Obama because of his age, 47 yeas old is golden time to a political people. I would not care about his issue, I belive whatever issue he insisted in, the jumping-off place is American benift.

I went out to the polls early on Tuesday to cast my vote. I voted for Obama, I think he is sincere and will do what is best for the country. You have to look at it like this, he has two little girls, and I am sure he would not do anything that would jepardize their futures, which also includes the future of every American. I hate to say it, but I think a lot of people choose Obama, because they were not happy with John McCains running mate. Let's be real, John McCain, is up there in age, and anything can happen, then Palin would have been president. I do not think she presented herself well. My opinion was sealed when she receive that prank phone call. Whenever she did not understand the question or did not know how to answer a question she would laugh, and that did not sound very VP or President like if she had to take over the office of President.

Yeah, i did on Absentee ballet. since i don't feel like waiting in line with a bunch of kids on election day. presidential elections days happens to fall on my birthday, so i think its kinda funny. but anyway, yeah, i mostly wanted to vote of the Props cause i was really on the fence about the president. i knew obama was going to win, so i just voted for McCain. REALLY i wanted Clinton...but you can't always have what you want. I'm just worried about the economy and wondering if Obama will make it worse or stable it out. honestly i though the person with the best chance to maybe improve it would be hillary but who know whats going to happen.

My husband and I both went to vote after he got home from work. I voted for Obama and so did my husband. The main reason I didnt even think of voting for McCain was because of Palin. I dont like her and there is so much that I dont agree with her on that it was a no go no matter what. I had been at first excited that a woman was picked and then there was just no way.

I did early voting. I voted for Obama. I chose Obama because it was time for a change. I feel that he can do the job better than McCain/Palin. I totally agree with you. Palin messed up McCain chance to win. I feel that Palin was not qualified to be a VP, I don't understand how she is a Gov. She don't know too much about politics and we don't want someone like that to run a country.

Hi Tina - I voted for Obama too. I also agree with you that Sarah Palin hurt McCains chance of winning the election. I know that there are many people out there who do not agree with this but that is just my feeling. I did not like Romney however. I think he should have picked somebody else besides Palin but not Romney. I am very happy with how the election turned out this year. I am so glad that the current administration and president will be leaving office in January. Thank goodness for small favors. I think that anything will be better than what we have now.

I stood in line with a fussy 5 month old to vote. My husband early voted (smart man!) and we both voted for Mr. McCain to be in office. I really wish he would have been the one to be elected. I almost crapped my pants when I saw on the news the "breaking" news that Obamanation had been elected as President. Dear God in Heaven, help us all!
