I think so that sony products are always over priced but they will not provide a low quality products. These days there are many products to choose from but sony has its own name and fame.

i agree. every product of sony is overpriced, it has its own style with high quality products. that is one of the reason why some people pay for it. its the brand name and fame.

I believe that Sony Cybershot is not overpriced but they are just too expensive. Let me define overpriced and too expensive. Overpriced refers to the item being sold at a higher price than its substitutes (competitors) offering the same product.Too expensive means that the price of the product is significantly higher than what the average consumer is expected to pay for a digital camera.
I think Sony cameras are just too expensive instead of being overpriced. If you are getting a Sony Digital camera, you are expecting a stylish exterior, state of the art phototaking experience and cool features that other cameras do not offer...You are also to expect others to see your Sony Cybershot and create an image that you are relatively rich to pay for its high price. All the more...you are buying the Internationally reknown brand..."Sony".
If you look at Sony Vaio (laptop)...in my opinion, they are indeed overpriced. Other than small gadgets and a few user softwares that are offered in Sony Vaio...I find that their price are easily 50% more than other leading brands with no much difference in hardware configuration. I believe, if you are willing to give up branding and style, you will probably get a better laptop at a lower price than a Sony Vaio...
