I am sorry to be so negative, but I am thoroughly disgusted at the election results tonight. Go ahead, call me a sore loser. I am one. Whatever come of this, we have got what we asked for. The American people wanted change, the change they get may not be the change that they want. I am disappointed in my fellow Americans and the choice that they have made. Just think about it, now as Americans we are lining up with the Hollywood elite in our choice for commander-in-chief of our country. I bet the Dixie Chicks are very proud of their fellow Americans. We should be very proud of ourselves tonight. I bet Mrs. Obama is really proud of her country now, not to mention Reverend Wright, he must be very proud also. I am proud to be an American but not proud of the choice that she has made.

There are worse things than being a sore loser. Being a sore winner for one.

I am also proud to be an American. Proud that the American people can see beyond the "same old THING" to something better than devisivness, arrogance, and a C grader. Proud that America has choosen to see beyond the color of a mans skin. Proud that we have a thoughtful and intelligent President Elect who might just be able to bring us together.

"might just be able to bring us together"
Or tear us to shreds. I vote for the latter.

America has chosen socialism. Hopefully, Obama won't be able to do much in 4 years. I doubt he'll get 2 terms. Not once people wake up.

I understand that you are upset but listening to Obama's speech, it seems he wants to try to govern for all Americans, even Republicans. So it seems he wants to try and reach out. Whether of course he actually does so when he takes office, only time will tell, a first indication being perhaps how many Republicans he might appoint to his Cabinet.
So I would say to you that there is much work to be done, that this country needs to pull together to get out of this mess, that people - even those like yourself who opposed him - should give him a chance to see what he does and then we can judge as time goes on.
One important point is that it seems increasingly clear that the Dems will fall a bit short of 60 votes in the senate and hence won't be able to invoke cloture without bipartisan support from some Republican senators. This is to the good as it will ensure that the Democrats won't be able to trample over the minority party and that therefore Republican voices, even if they are in a minority, will be heard and compromised with in the Senate.

You're entitled to your opinion, and I'd be the last to call you a sore loser. I'd be as disgusted with our country had they chosen divisiveness, anger and continued aggression and arrogance over inclusion, thoughtful intelligence and the inspiration to work toward the American dream of a land where anyone can succeed, even if you're not born to wealth and privilege.

I really don't believe that is going to change. There has always been rich people and poor people in this world. I realize that the rich maybe have it a little bit easier achieving the so called American dream, but I also believe that our country offers the greatest opportunity for anyone to succeed, regardless of social status, skin color, or financial position.I feel like it is a level playing field and a person has to go for it. A lot of it depends on how hard a person wants to work toward their goals.Notice I said opportunity for success, not guaranteed success. No person on earth, not even the great Obama can guarantee success for everyone. I certainly don't believe taking more money from those who have worked hard to get where they are at and giving it to those who have put very little effort in making their own lives better is the solution. A lot of people seem to want success, but few want to really go after it.

I am also very disgusted. To me, Obama's talk about change has no substance. Besides that, change is not always good. People need to remember that. It amazes me that this nation elected a man who has went to a racist church for 20 years and has a wife who has made racist comments. God help us all!

Change may not always be good but when things are bad like in America now CHANGE IS NEEDED ASAP. Obama was the only man talking about making a change that could help the many people that really need help. That is why he won. He was talking about helping people not destroying them and letting them rot away.

i agree give this man a chance we had alot more americans with smiles on there faces today then we did yeasterday this it self is a better sign.not many of us were feeling happy much less safe with our country the night before .just bringing in new hope for our country this morning was a blessing.this is a hard job he cant do it him self he needs the american peoples help and he lets us know that. in the past the americans opinions did not seem to matter things were done regardless of what we wanted.we are now being ask to help our country lets be proud and do this .and i know that some of us work harder than others but that is one of the things that makes us americans not leting our brother that may be weaker than us fall and supporting him even if he pays less tax than we do.

i am in canada and have heard this more than once, that the US have put so much on Obama that they will only be disappointed unless he lives up to all their expectations which is pretty likely impossible. i also worry about the delecate balance of canada and the us that is in place now. hopefully he wont change too much.

I am sorry that you are disappointed. I'm sure that many are. I am and have been on the fence with this election. Both candidates had there remarkable as well as questionable qualities. Now that is done and over, I think it is time to let it go and work together for the good of our country.

I'm very pleased with the out come. As long as Obama does what he has said he was going to do then America will be a better place for all. At least he was talking about helping the fellow Americans instead of destroying them! I hope what he said was the truth and not a lie.

Sorry for your feeling, the whole world is feeling opposite, you still have steriotype which you will overcome as time goes by, but for now it is that change you do not want, superioty complex is nothing when people decide and decide convingly, you could have convinced all those were thinking like you and probably you would have been proud now of the election choice. But one thing is that few people were thinking like you when they went to cast their votes, you better comes to terms that change is just but starting.

The problem is that he was not running for president of the world or was he?
He was running for president of the United States. Is it suppose to make me feel good that he has got the worlds approval. Here is my opinion, just an opinion. A lot of people that supported Obama probably didn't really know what he stood for. We have a some people that just heard the word change and thought, yep that's our man. I believe that we have grown so apathetic in my nation that a lot of folks simply didn't care enough to do their due diligence and see where Obama stands. I think a lot of them didn't even take the time to think through his rhetoric. That's my opinion and I could be wrong.
