Have you reset the bios and set the time correctly? If the problem is still there after resetting and changing time, well you should change your motherboard if I were in your situation. It worth buying. How old is your computer? What is your computer specs? Maybe we can have an alternative, after answering my question. Hoping your reply because I willing to help.

well i always have to change the date/time and i'm just sick of it now...
my pc specs are:
P4 3.2ghz
512mb ram
80gb hard disk
buying motherboards hia in fiji is very expensive which is why i'm looking for alternative solutions...

Changing the battery usually fixes that problem. I would suspect the batteries you are using might be defective (it happens). I would check the battery voltage with a multimeter, I think they should run about 3.6 volts, it should be marked on the battery. Make sure the polarity is correct when installing too.

I think the problem is with the CMOS chip or bios program is corrupted.

This might involve replacement of timing chip or a crystal . please call a hardware technician / engineer . BTW , did you use a jumper as instructed in Motherboard manual
before changing the battery ? it must be done ! anyway , please do not trouble
yourself in servicing this problem unless you have the required technical skills .
