What is the role of credit card in shopping?

I use $$, no plastic for me, I have seen what it does to people who use plastic, they suffer later on down the road, I was taught, if you don't have the $ to pay for it now when you want it, then you don't need it now, it will be there when you do get the $, and if it's not, then you didn't need it that bad anyhow. so I tend to go by this, and it has worked out great for me. so I stick with that everytime i go our shopping, if I don't have what it cost's, then I don't really need it. if I go back when I do have the $ and it's there, I will get it, if not, then didn't need it to begin with,or didn't have to have it at all. this saves me having to owe anyone any $ in the future. and it's worth it to me. The role of my credit card is to take over for my purchases when I am low on cash and need something or am making a large purchase that is more then I have in my account at the moment. It is also his job to make sure I do not put more on it then I will be able to pay off once the bill arrives. Of course he is a little lax at times on that last one.

That's true. Since I got my credit card my expenses have really gone way up. But I can afford to pay for my bills and I never make late payments. I guess you just have to be responsible when using a credit card. In a way, the credit card should be atest of how responsible you are as person. It's a test to see if you are one to easily give in to your baser needs or if you can plan out for the future.

Well if you use credit card wisely, you will have the advantages for you dont need to bring a big amount of money in purchasing your wants and also you can do it on installment basis that is become easier for you to pay. But if you use credit card without enough cash to pay it in the future. It is better not to have a credit card for instead of giving you a comfort it give you a head eache for you will be in debt. The interest rate is so high at you reget using it. Just treat your card as cash you you will have a limitation to use it. Or dont bring your credit card with you always to avoid purchasing thing that are not really nescessary.

Hi bbc991 Well, It's true that more and more people shopping with credit card in hand... and many of them are using their so call "future money".. buying items they don't need.. and paying extra for them in interest... just because you have an impulse in buying. If you believe you are experiencing debt overload, take appropriate measures. Try to pay off the high interest-rate credit card bills first... To avoid being tempted to use credit cards for impluse buying, you should lock them in drawer and only for emergency use.
