With the tremendous voter turnout during yesterday's presidential election, do you think many of the voters did not look beyond color? From what I experiened at the election poll where I worked I truly believe that color was the main factor by the amount of uneducated on the important issues at hand, first time voters. Any imput on this from my fellow mylotters?

I'm wondering what you mean here, my friend. Are you saying that many people voted for Obama simply because he was black? Or that uneducated people mainly chose this reason to vote for him?
Personally, most of the reasons that I heard for or against him were ones concerning the issues. The other main reason that people stated that they voted Obama was that he was not a Republican. They just wanted a different administration. I don't think that race had any bearing on most of the people that I have spoken with.

I am saying that race was a major issue for many first time voters. And many of these first time voters were uneducated on important issues. Citizens that have voted for years are concerned with what's going on in this country and what is needed for major change and voted for whom they thought would get the job done.

I agree that it's a good thing that young voters got out and voted, missa. But did they vote for the right reason????
Thanks for your response.

People voted because they wanted to change something. Who can really say what the right reason to vote is? They all wanted something different, and they got it. I don't see it as a bad thing. They probably looked at how Sarah Palin sees the world and decided against voting for McCain because of that.
