The furthest distance from my homeland that I have been is New Zealand when I was 30 years old. I took advantage of stopping over so I didn't feel jet lagged. I stopped in Los Angeles and went up the Californian coast, in French Polynesia and the Cook Islands on my way there. On my way home I stopped in Samoa and Los Angeles again, to break the journey. New Zealand felt familiar because it is a bit like Norway with much natural beauty and a low population. In my life I have spend quite a lot of time in Australia and that is also far from my homeland. It felt like home but a bit different with vast improvement like decent weather, unique wildlife and honest people. The longest flights I have done are London to Los Angeles and Singapore to London. Those were more tiring than the airline legs of my trip like Honolulu to Fiji. On a trip around the world there are so many possible stopovers and on a trip from Europe to Australia or New Zealand too. Suggestions are the USA, Canada, the Pacific Islands, Singapore, Bangkok and Hong Kong.

For out of the country, I've been to Hong Kong and Malaysia only.. HK being about 2 hours away from he Philippines and Malaysia about 4 hours. I enjoyed it. I like travelling.... if not just for the expenses. LOL! In my native country, the farthest are Cebu, Davao and Baguio, Cebu and Davao by plane ( about 1 hour for Cebu and 2 hours for Davao from Manila.). Baguio for about 5 hours. It was fun!

I've traveled to quite a few places. : O I think the farthest one was either Canada or Florida. Though I'm not really sure, there might have been another place that's farther that I can't remember. : O Both trips were really fun. ; D Florida was for a week when Canada was about two weeks to a month. I'd tell people planning a trip to make sure they have everything they need, but even so, you will probably forget something anyways, most people do ~ (I don't know of any trip that I didn't forget anything. @.@); ) Oh, and take lots of photos and bring back gifts and stuff to remember the place you went to. ; )

I live in the United States (in Minnesota) and the furthest I have traveled is Hawaii and Ireland. Hawaii is about an 8 hour non-stop flight and Ireland is about 9 hours, but we had a LONG layover, so I am not exactly sure how long the flight is. I LOVED both places =]

The farthest place I've traveled is either Adak, Alaska or Guam. Either way it was a long flight. I was in the Navy when I did most of my traveling. The country I liked most is Japan. It is crowded especially riding the subway during rush hour. Make sure your passport is up to date. Bring two major credit cards in case of emergency. Have enough traveler checks. I'm not sure if debit cards can be used overseas. Pack light with interchangeable clothings. There are websites for travel advices.
