I just want to ask you guys if you have already tried a diet plan . What was it ? Was it effective?
I have been struggling with my weight since I was a teenager. When I was a little younger (20s), I would easily lose some pounds. You see, I eat rice a lot. So if I cut down on rice, then I will lose weight. But since I am already in my 30s , it is really difficult for me to lose pounds now.

As we get older, it gets harder to lose it. Drives me crazy. I used to think - gee I need to lose 5 pounds, and poof - it would be gone. Now I think, gee I need to lose 15 pounds, and I gain another 5!
There is no magic pill, no magic potion, no magic, period. Unless you can afford - or actually want to have - surgery, there is no magic way of getting rid of it without really changing what you eat and adding exercise to your life.

Yes you're right ! I almost starve myself just to at least lose 5 lbs but OMG ! I still gain weight or stay the same .
I just wish I could afford a surgery. But even if I do, I guess I would still be afraid of its long term effect on me.

I don't know that I could do surgery, it's the recovery and then for the rest of your life, and still there is no guarantee. My step sister had stomach surgery about 10 years ago and is still humongous. She was only supposed to eat very small amounts of broth and liquids after the surgery, but instead ate jars of marshmellow cream (can't remember what that stuff is called...). Eventually she restretched her stomach back out, and gained back the little bit she did lose and a whole lot more.
Total waste of money and time!

She had bariatric surgery ? Wow ! I do know it costs a lot. So she only can eat very few types of food? that is sad and indeed just a waste of money.

I've NEVER been model thin (dream on) but I've never been obese. I've always been chubby? fat? The thing is I'm tall so it doesn't really show. People just say I'm a big girl (not in a bad way). I used to go to the gym and I really lost weight. What I noticed that worked for me is the after 6 diet and avoiding carbo like rice and pasta and avoiding sodas.
You can do it. I don't thing age matters. Discipline is what counts. LOL!

Well I guess when we age, our metabolism slows down. So age really matters.
I might try the after 6 diet though.
Thanks for sharing.

I am an obese woman. But I started to gain weight after I was in the 20s since I moved to my first work place. They eat rice from morning till night which and the food was very inviting. I try to loose weight. With a petite body and a whopping 92 kilo, I really need some help. Now I am trying to cut down on rice intake. It works and I lose 5 kilo now.

I've tried tons of diet plans...the best one that worked for me where I was able to keep the weight off was the Dr. Atkins plan. It's a lifestyle not a diet. Once you stray from the diet for an extended period of time you gain the weight back. That's what happened to me. I got into the Dr. Atkins plan when it was popular and there weren't a lot of things out there to assist in helping you stick with the diet so after 2 years of not eating bread or stuffing or desserts I lost it! Now there's a ton of stuff, there's even yellow cake with buttercream frosting! It's sooooo good. It only has 6net carb too! When I was dieting there just was no such thing. I've gotten back on the plan since then with my hubby and I like it very much. The only problem is he's stuck on the 14day induction period and I want to move on to the next phase. I had to switch my plan to do that because he wouldn't move on the the next stage of Atkins and I got tired of him quizzing me on what I was eating because I WAS trying to move on. He has been on the 1st phase for 3months it was suppose to be 14days. I can't take such limits on food for that long. He's obsessed. I moved on to the Miracle Noodle Diet. I'm developing it as I go along. This is the second week and I am adding exercise this week and see if it adds more to inches lost and some actual poundage lost.

I guess that's the problem with most of the diet plans. If you wont stick on the program, you'll end up gaining more weight.
