Should Dravid still play?

I have nothing against Dravid. But looking at his performance, do you think Dravid ought to continue or take rest? In this series the performance is dismal. Still he should continue as there are less senior players now? Or should there be replacement?

Hello subha12 I think you are right. Personally I have nothing adverse against Dravid. No doubt Dravid is a great player and matured batsman. You can not judge a player by simply seeing one or two matches. It is obviously age is a great factor for cricket players. I think within few years we will not be able to see seniors players as Kumble already resigned. DADA is going to be retired after Nagpur test and thereafter master blaster and Dravid. My personal views is both Sachin & Dravid should retire from the game as they have given lots of helm to Indian cricket. I do not think there will be any player in the near future to replace Sachin, Ganguly, Dravid & Kumble. They are legend in the Indian Cricket.

Rahul Dravid is a technically sound batsmen. One cannot decide Dravid by single series. Because always there will be some ups and downs for a batsmen. Also in the present scenario with Ganguly and Kumble already out it is better if Dravid stay for some more period. Otherwise there will not be any senior player in the India at some stage that will pose problem to the younger ones. So he can stay for some more peiod.

Yea.. it is a dismal performance for Mr Wall of Indian team, but considering his ability, and i think he has still some amount of cricket left in him, which India needs.
But the Indian management, must simultaneously groom younger players, by allowing them to play along with the senior players in the Indian team. Only then the younger players will learn the nuances of International cricket.
Take care friend.

Hi subha,
India's senior players are leaving team one by one..
Kuble resigned and the Sourav Gangluly also going after this match.
We can see Sachin also played very small innings a lot.But now he is on the top.Today one more century to his account!!
Luxman also in very good form.
But if we look to Rahul Dravid he could not do more for this match. But i there is no more seniors for the Indian team.I think he will back to his form as a WALL again.I think he has to continue for some more matches......

I personally like him a lottttt,so can't say a word against him. He's been a good tea player and humble also. Maybe he was not at his best this time. But that's the case with many of them in the team as such. We lack consistent players. Maybe he requires some rest, but I bet he's one among d best. He'll be back with a bang if given another chance!!
Cheers

Hi subha,
I feel Dravid needs a break. Well, i am not speaking about retirement, lets give him a little break and make himself get comfortable with first class matches to make a very good return. Of course his performance in Border - Gavaskar trophy was not up to his mark. But he definitely has sound technical skills. All he needs is a little break to make up his flaws and get ready for a good future.

He is one of the technically correct best player in the world. At present he is not in form. There is nothing wrong in giving him some more chances. If he again fails.then it is better to replace him.

I have never heard of this person before. I would hope that they choose the best players though. Good luck.
