I agree with you. A good listener should have the mentioned qualities. It is not important one should talk and talk in a group, conversation or to get some useful information. By keeping silent and listening to a good, learned and wise people is essential to gain something. Of course it does'nt matter if someone is talking rubbish and you just slip away to avoid nuisance. What do you say?

Wikihow is usually a very good source of information but please be aware that if you quote from any site, you should always give the source, since most material on the Internet is copyright in some way or another.

I agree with your suggestions. I believe that I cannot be a good talker till I am a good listener. I believe that I am a good listener and I do listen to others properly and attentively, else I won't be able to solve their problem or some suggestions, if required. I am patient and careful in listening to others and I give othes ample opportunity to pour out their feeling. I first try to listen to them very very patiently and after listening and understanding what others want to convey, I start the talking. I am more of a listener and love to listen to others, I know now a days everyone wants to talk, however, no one has the time to listen to others. Therefore, giving a patient hearing to someone dear to you, definitely cheers him up and give him a kind of satisfaction that somebody has listened to him.
