Starwars, Friday the 13th, Saw, Jaws, Rocky, etc. Have you seen only some of the "episodes" but not all, and do you feel you missed any part of the story or plot by missing any? I have not seen all of the Star Wars ones, and well im not that into it, so i never really kept up with it anyway, but i am certain that to get the full meaning of it i would need to sit and watch from the first to the last...unlike Friday the 13th where its bascially the same thing each one, just different victims..so u dont miss much by missing one.

I know there are a lot of movies out there that have several movies in that series and I also know that if you do not watch all the movies in the series than the movies do not make much sense, and you usually end up missing something that plays a key part in the movies,I love the Star Wars movies and have seen all six of them several times,I have seen a couple of the Rocky Movies,so I am not sure exactly what happens in those movies,I have seen like one of the Jaws movies but it gave me nightmares because I am afraid of sharks, and I have seen none of the Saw movies because I know they would give me nightmares and I do not like scary movies the same goes with the Friday the 13th movies.

I don't think I've seen a movie sequel without having seen it's predecessors beforehand.I can't remember which movie, but I think I've crammed in watching the DVD of an "Original" movie before going to see a sequel in a Cinema..Although Not strictly speaking a movie sequel, the "Serenity" Movie was a direct follow on to the "Firefly" TV series that was cancelled, but considered worthwhile enough by Universal that they Greenlit the Project for a Movie release..I went to see the Movie first without having previously seen or been aware of the series..Although I enjoyed the Movie as a standalone, I went then and bought the DVD set of the series to catch up on the "back story"!

My DH is a huge fan of the Rocky movies, so I've seen all of those a dozen times. I never really got into the Freddy Kruger series. Like you said, it's all the same. Victim gets murdered, same story, different victim. It's a big yawn for me.
I am not into Star Wars or Star Trek, but did go see one of the Star Trek movies when it was in the theater about 20 years ago.
