Some people tend to believe that bedwetting children are often lazy and just do not want to go independently to the bathroom. My child is 6 and she does, yetmy husband feels she is just being plain lazy. What do you think? What are your experiences like?

My 9 year old still wets the bed sometimes. My husband reacts the same way. I did some research on it and it is not because they are lazy. What I found out was that it is mostly hereditary. It doesn't have to be the mother or father it can be from other relatives. There is really nothing to do about it unless you want to put her on medication but who wants to do that. She will grow out of it on her own time. I even asked my childs doctor and he said the samething. So it is just a waiting game.

I really don't know what to tell you. to be honest, my daughter is 5 yrs old and she hasnt wet her bed yet. I had been expecting her to wet her bed when I didn't let her wear he training pants anymore but we're really surprised she hasnt wet her bed yet.

I never had this problem with my 8 year old and my daughter is still in diapers. I had a brother that wet his bed until he was a teenager. He was a very sound sleeper and he would just not wake up when he needed to go. He is still a sound sleeper, but in his 30's I think he has gotten the bed wetting under control. I would try cutting off liquids a few hours before bedtime and waking her up at night to get her to go.

hi i have a six year old boy and he does the same thing, i was so concerned i took him to the doctor. the doctor said this is very comon he said some kids wet the bed until they are in there teens he said boys tend to be worse than girls you are not supose to make a big deal out of it above all do not tease the child or get mad at them. he said one thing some parents try is a medication to stop the urge during the night i did not like the sound of this at all.another thing is alarms on the bed sheets when they wet .this did not sound good to me .however just recentley we have offered my six year old son a dollar every night he does not wet the bed.he is now breaking our wallets this sounds crazy but it worked for us find that one thing she likes and offer it in return for not bed weting but first have your chid checked to make sure she does not have a medical condition.all it took for us was a simple urine test .i hope this helps and god bless.
