A fourteen year old boy his in a recycling bin after running away from his school. A garbage truck picked up the bin, and dumped into the truck's compactor.
"Waste Management spokeswoman Lynn Morgan says the truck continued on its collection route, compacting cardboard several times. The boy wasn’t discovered until the truck dumped its load at a recycling processing center."

All I can say is that this was HIS stupidity. Every garbage dumpster and recycling bin I have ever seen has a warning on it telling people NOT TO CLIMB INSIDE OF IT. Maybe if his dumb a$s would have stayed in school, he would have been able to read the damn warning sign. I hope that no one tries to say that this is the company's fault somehow, because the company was in no way to blame for this...

Of course the company isn't to blame! I think this is kind of harsh. Yes, it was a dumb idea and I'm sure he knows that now! But kids do stupid things that make absolutely no sense and I'm sure he was perfectly capable of reading it. Maybe this experience will give him a reason to turn his life around. The important thing is that he's okay and has the chance to learn from his mistake and maybe do something positive with the experience.

Hi Bd200789,
That was a silly thing to do, thank goodness he is still alive and might teach him a lesson.

that is horrible and scary, you think your kids are at school and find that out. It could have been alot worse, kids make mistakes, not becuase they are stupid but because they are kids sometimes they have no influence in thier lives to teach them right from wrong, so they do something that even though they may know is wrong because they think they will be ok.

Oh my gosh. That is just terrible. Maybe that will teach a good lesson though. I feel so sorry for the child and his family.

I hope that the boy realizes how lucky he is to have survived AND how stupid it was to get in there. They dont check...its practically automated so they can keep up with all the garbage we go through.
I also hope that no one decides that its their fault because they dont check...they do post that people shouldnt climb in.
