raked the leaves and jumped in yet? Did anyone else think this was fun as a kid? My daughter is dying to do this. But she has to wait til the weekend. That is when her daddy will get together with some of our nieces and nephews. We will make a party out of it, if we have time. Do you make a celebration out of yard work?

My father in low takes my son to his brother's farm on Sunday's. My son loves to play with the animals there and jump on the fallen leaves gathered to be removed later on. There are some puppies at the farm which my son loves to play with.© ronaldinu 2008

Hey, I did that just yesterday. The kids loved it. Of course, the pile of leaves from one quarter of my front yard make a pile bigger than your average car. That might have something to do with it.

Most of the leaves were used before Halloween to stuff Pumpkin, bats and a few ghost bags and help stuff a Halloween person my sister in law next door made. She took clothing and stuff it with alot of leaves and put on a mask, shoes, and gloves, it was life size and scared alot of the trick or treaters. But that does make some good memories come back when me and my siblings were younger and had a blast playing in the leaves after they were raked up. Now days it is a rarity for kids to play in the leaves they are usually to busy doing other stuff inside nowadays to pay attention to stuff we considered fun now days they might not consider it fun unless you hide a high tech device in there somewhere.

My daughter never did like to do that. I loved doing it when I was a kid though.

we have done this until one year when my now 15 year old daughter was about 6 or 7 and broke out in hives after jumping in the leaves. i asked my brother in law who is a hortorculturealist and he said it could be anything. it may have been the pestisides or just the leaves themselves.

My son does not get to jump in our leaves. Too many cats, dogs, and birds using the yard as a toilet.

I wish my kid was old enough to rake leaves! ;) I also wish we had fall here. All of our leaves are still green and attached to tress. I loved raking leaves when I was younger. My grandma used to pay me $1 an hour to do her yard and I thought I was getting the better end of the deal! haha. But yeah, I can't wait until my kid is old enough to help out in the yard. I love gardening and raking and even cutting the grass so we will have lots of fun.
